The
complete 72 pages of storyboard artwork from this He-Man
episode.
During
He-Man's first season, Robert Lamb served as a
storyboard artist for Filmation (he later went on to join
the writing staff). Robert Lamb often put extra care and
effort into his storyboards, and he was especially excited
to work on "The Dragon's Gift." The script was
penned by another of the series' greatest writers, Larry
DiTillio. DiTillio's script offered plenty of visual material,
including the grandiose Granamyr entrance and the sprawling
Skytree, so Robert Lamb had a lot to work with. Thanks to
Rob's generosity, we now have scans of the entire storyboard
for "The Dragon's Gift." This is the step-by-step
visual breakdown of the episode. It shows how the animator
originally envisioned the episode, and it also allows us
to see things that changed in the development between storyboard
and the final cut. Here, for the first time ever, we proudly
present Robert Lamb's full-length storyboard for "The
Dragon's Gift."
