Bow is in Twigget Village, providing a music lesson to the Twigget named Spunky. Adora and Spirit arrive to retrieve him, knowing that his presence in the village might endanger the Twiggets. At that moment, Catra and a squad of Horde Troopers arrive to menace, and capture Bow.

However, Bow disappears in a cloud of smoke. Catra orders the Troopers to round up the Twiggets for transport back to the Fright Zone, for daring to consort with the rebels. This prompts Adora to transform into She-Ra. She tears open the Horde tanks, as Bow reappears in another cloud of smoke, luring the Troopers away with his illusion. He helps the Twiggets escape, as She-Ra faces off against Catra, who has transformed into her feline form.

She-Ra tricks her into leaping into a well, and helps Bow and the Twiggets escape into the Whispering Woods, where the trees block Catra's transport. Adora scolds Bow for being irresponsible and putting the Twiggets in unnecessary danger, but she also knows that he meant no harm. Bow feels guilty and offers to leave the rebellion, but instead, Adora sends him and Kowl off on a temporary leave of duty to contemplate the responsibilities that come from being rebels. As Bow and Kowl journey back to Twigget Village, they see that the Twiggets are aiding the Horde.

Kowl goes to warn Adora of this new development, as Bow investigates the matter, disguised as an old magician. When he gets a chance, he pulls Spunky aside, and learns that the Horde have captured King Sprite and Queen Sparkle, the rulers of the Twiggets, and have threatened the Twiggets to help the Horde. Hordak plans to use his eclipse beam to weaken Bright Moon's magic during that evening's eclipse, making it vulnerable to attack.

Bow distracts the Horde Troopers using his magic, while Spunky frees the King and Queen, and together they all fan out to spread the spirit of rebellion amongst the Twiggets. Catra sees through Bow's disguise and captures him, but at that moment, the Twiggets enter the fight against the Horde Troopers. She-Ra arrives and defends the Twiggets from the assault, as Spunky helps to free Bow.

Unfortunately, Catra manages to activate the eclipse beam, and she soon departs with her soldiers. She-Ra destroys the machine, but the eclipse beam has already been set in motion and it is too late to stop it. Bow realizes that if he could find the right frequency, he could use his harp and a nearby amplifier to interfere with the beam and cause the molecules of the machine to vibrate so fast that the machine would shatter, fully disabling the beam.

She-Ra attempts to give him enough time to do just that, as she rides Swift Wind into the atmosphere and they attempt to pull the moon in its orbit, preventing the full eclipse which would make Bright Moon vulnerable. Bow finally finds the right frequency and destroys the machine, saving Bright Moon. As a reward, She-Ra gives Spunky (but not Bow) a kiss on the cheek.
