Frosta has summoned She-Ra into her icy region, where she uses the magic crystal to show her that black snow has been falling on Galacia, home to the Selkies, making the animals and crops sick. For some reason, the Selkies blame Frosta and her people for the black snow. As She-Ra and Frosta head to Galacia to investigate, they are surrounded by angry snow howlers, which attack them.

She-Ra realizes that the howlers are agitated because they are ill, and uses her power to heal them, earning their friendship. Elsewhere, Multi-Bot is monitoring these events and proceeds to contact Modulok, who is engaged in convincing the Selkies that the Snow People are responsible for the black snow. Modulok returns to his Weather Wheel, a satellite ship which hovers over the area and generates an instant blizzard of black snow in order to force She-Ra and Frosta away. The blizzard sweeps Frosta into Galacia, where she is captured by the Selkies. When She-Ra looks for her friend, she is attacked by Multi-Bot who buries her in black snow.

She-Ra bursts out and skirmishes with the robot, causing Multi-Bot to briefly lose its head. She-Ra tricks Multi-Bot into revealing Modulok's plan and whereabouts, and departs to stop Modulok. King Narwahl of the Selkies orders Frosta to end the black snow, but she pleads that she has nothing to do with the black snow. The Selkies contact the Snow People and tell them that they have captured their empress, and an impending war begins to look more than likely. She-Ra summons Swift Wind using her telepathy, asking him to fly above the clouds to avoid becoming ill.

When Swift Wind flies down to She-Ra, the black snow makes him ill, but she heals him, and they fly to confront Modulok on his Weather Wheel. Frosta escapes from the Selkies and races to the battlefield, hoping to avert war. Undeterred by the lightning and the hurricane winds which Modulok conjures, She-Ra bursts into the satellite and captures him. At the battlefield, as the war begins, Frosta arrives to urge peaceful resolution, and at that moment, it begins to snow, pure white snow. She-Ra brings proof that the Horde was responsible for the black snow, and a truce is called. She-Ra sends Modulok and the Weather Wheel flying back to the Fright Zone, where it crashes into Hordak's throne room. Empress Frosta and King Narwahl forge an alliance of friendship to end the clashes of their people.
