As a jeweler works to repair Queen Angella's crystal crown, Leech and the Horde Troopers attack in an attempt to steal the crown. After a battle wherein Glimmer is hit by a freeze ray and Bow is entrapped within a magnetic field, Leech is able to escape with the crown. Glimmer is desperate to get the crown back, because it symbolizes the rebels' freedom.
Bow, Glimmer, and Peekablue plan to intercept Leech before he gets to the Fright Zone, believing that She-Ra will be there to bail them out should they get into any trouble. Adora and Kowl realize that the rebels have become too dependant on She-Ra, but decides to tag along as Adora to keep them on the right track.
Leech meets with Catra and Entrapta and they plan to use the crown as bait to capture Adora, or more preferably, She-Ra. Clawdeen, Catra's pet, attacks the rebels as they approach, and corners Bow and Glimmer, who anticipate She-Ra's arrival to help them out. She-Ra appears and provides words of encouragement, warning Bow and Glimmer that they need to rely on themselves, and then departs. Bow and Glimmer are stunned, but realize the truth in She-Ra's words.
Peekablue is captured in the battle, and Catra plans to use her as bait. Now the rebels have to rescue their friend, something that is more valuable than a crown to fight for. Bow and Glimmer cooperate to distract Catra, Entrapta, and Leech, as Adora heads for cover and transforms into She-Ra. She helps free the others from the coils of Entrapta's traps, recognizing that She-Ra can always help those who have tried to help themselves.
As Glimmer attempts to free Peekablue, she realizes that the flower in which Peekablue is trapped emits a sleepy perfume, which causes her to fall asleep, and She-Ra as well. Bow and Kowl provide ventilation by knocking out the skylight. Bow carries She-Ra out as the others awaken and climb out themselves.
