He-Man and the Masters regroup away from Snake Mountain and fret that it may be too late to stop Kobra Khan from freeing King Hiss. Zodak confirms this to be true and tells of how his staff was stolen from him. He-Man suspects that Zodak may have wanted the Snake Men to be released. The pair square off as Zodak reveals his desire to avenge his brother at any cost. At Snake Mountain, Kobra Khan declares his loyalty to King Hiss.

King Hiss then goes to repay Evil-Lyn by eating her, as it is the greatest honor to be eaten by the King. She manages to convince him otherwise by promising to take him to gain the power of the Elders. The Snake Men depart for Castle Grayskull. He-Man and Zodak see the Snake Men heading off, so they team together to protect Castle Grayskull.

The Snake Men arrive at Castle Grayskull and attack. Zodak regains his staff from General Rattlor and pursues King Hiss. King Hiss and Evil-Lyn combine their magic to penetrate Castle Grayskull. Evil-Lyn is left outside as the King, the General and Snake Face go inside. The Sorceress is attacked by King Hiss and poisoned with his venom. He-Man and Zodak follow them inside and find the infected Sorceress. Zodak goes to stop King Hiss from gaining the power of the Elders while He-Man subdues Rattlor and gets Snake Face to stare at his own reflection and petrify himself. Zodak takes the beaten King Hiss to the top of Castle Grayskull and throws him into the Abyss. His Snake Men leap after him to save him.

With King Hiss seemingly dead, Snake Mountain returns to its previous state and Skeletor arises from the ground and restores his men to normal. He then proclaims that Evil-Lyn is a marked woman and will pay the price for her betrayal. Zodak heads for his home, but leaves the Masters with no doubt that he will return if needed.
