The
series guide was given to channels wanting to pick up the
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series.
Like the Series Bible it contains lots of character histories,
early conceptual drawings, and episodes that were never
made.
A
series guide?
After
Michael Halperin had written the Masters of the Universe
series bible back in December of 1982, Filmation put together
this book, which outlines both the characters and the fascinating
mythology of the series. The book is a more polished, succinct
version of the series bible, and is equally as fascinating.
This
series guide was given to stations that wanted to pick up
the animated series, and in some circumstances, freelance
writers wanting to write for the series.
What's
in the guide?
Read
it. Next to the original series bible this is the most intense
and important reading you will ever do from the Masters
of the Universe canon. It reveals in some depth the
characteristics of the cast, and more importantly in some
cases it reveals parts of their origins that until now were
unheard of. How and where did Teela meet He-Man? This question
along with many others is answered in this expansion of
the original series bible. This guide also reveals the earliest
ideas for episodes in production, some of which never that
never saw the light of day, and others that did, but were
changed drastically.
So
what now?
Read
it!! This is another fascinating, eye-opening piece of literature
you can read about He-Man. It's certainly worth
it. Expand on what you have read from the series bible.
