Just
how many times can She-Ra fight Hordak in the same way?
Filmation
Usually
in an episode of He-Man and She-Ra, a
great scene would be an actual physical battle between the
leaders of the two opposing forces, He-Man battling Skeletor
as seen in the episode "The Arena" and She-Ra
fighting Hordak from "A Loss for Words." Unfortunately,
while the battle in "A Loss for Words" was wonderful
to watch, the scene became a stock footage battle, which
meant that it's originality soon wore off. The battle would
be slightly repeated in "Brigis," and almost reproduced
in "The Caregiver." Strangely enough, in "The
Caregiver," some of the animation was completely new,
even though the battle was exactly the same, meaning that
they didn't refer to the already existing stock sequence.
Hordak lost on all three of these occasions, and each time
his transformation into a tank was his downfall!
Round
1 PP17 - A Loss for Words
Hordak
poses impressively and begins his transformation into a
spinning top.
Now
as the spinning top he makes his way towards She-Ra.
She-Ra
grabs one of Hordak's four arms,
which
causes Hordak's actual body to spin; and just for safe measure,
She-Ra pushes him downward into the ground.
Hordak
still hasn't had enough and transforms into a spider-like
form to escape the hole in the ground.
Now
transformed into a tank he makes his way towards She-Ra,
who
leaps over him, picks him up and throws him into the ceiling.
Now
Hordak is stuck on the ceiling. The winner of Round 1 appears
to be She-Ra!
Round
2 PP76 - Brigis
Season
two is well under way, and Hordak knows that he needs to
battle She-Ra in order to get at least one good action scene
in this episode.
Skipping
the spinning top and spider-like forms, he opts straight
for the tank mode.
Now
transformed into a tank he makes his way towards She-Ra,
who
again leaps over him, picks him up and throws him skyward,
but
there's no ceiling this time. The winner of Round 2 appears
to be She-Ra!
Round
3 PP77 - The Caregiver
Hordak
knows that last time was a mistake; missing the transformation
into the spinning top is not a good idea.
Now
as the spinning top he once again makes his way towards
She-Ra.
But
She-Ra remembers this fight from before and grabs one of
Hordak's four arms,
which
causes Hordak's actual body to spin; and just for safe measure,
She-Ra pushes him downward into the ground.
Hordak
still hasn't had enough and transforms into a spider-like
form to escape the hole in the ground. This is the point
in the fight where the viewer tends to get a strong sense
of deja vú!
Now
transformed into a tank he makes his way towards She-Ra,
who
leaps over him yet again, picks him up and throws him into
the ceiling.
And
just like before Hordak is stuck on the ceiling. The winner
of the third and final round appears to be She-Ra!
