Barton is an alien criminal, that is wanted on fifty-three deep-space worlds. He was being chased through space by the Interplanetary Lawmen. Skeletor is curious, and brings Barton's ship down to Eternia, and forces Barton to tell him a bout his invention. Barton reveals that he has a machine called the Cosmic Converter, which will make people obey every word the holder says. Skeletor steals the device, intending to use it on He-Man. Barton is sent back into outer space, where he is arrested.
