Keldor - Evil Apprentice Of Hordak
Real Name: Keldor, Of The House Of Miro

Keldor is the brother of Randor and the son of King Miro, although he is also a member of the "rare blue-skinned Gar race. He is the man who would eventually become Skeletor.

History:

During Miro's youth he fell in love with a Gar Princess, but their relationship was forbidden by her family. She was not allowed to continue her relationship with Miro. She had become pregnant and had a child that she named Keldor.

When war broke out on Anwat Gar. It seemed as if the Gars were fighting each other for no reason, families torn apart in the carnage. The princess took Keldor and rode off in the night, looking for a place to take refuge. After many months of travel, she arrived in Eternos and was welcomed by the Royal Family. She had been wounded on her escape and died shortly after her arrival. Keldor was welcomed with open arms, as the son he never knew.

A year later, Miro fell in love with a woman named Marlene and married her. A few mouths thereafter, Prince Stefan was born. Two years later Prince Randor was born and three years after that, Princess Noria was born. Even though Miro had accepted him as his own son. However, what bothered Keldor most was that his baby brother, Prince Randor, was to someday become king of Eternia. Keldor felt cheated by not being king, because Keldor didn’t think it was fair that Randor would be king, simply because his father was Miro. He didn’t feel that Randor was to blame for his never being king, he felt that it was an unfair system set up by a flawed monarchy. In a strange way, Keldor was actually rather protective of Randor, looking out for him and trying to make sure that he never got hurt.

Count Marzo's uprisings began when he aquired the power of an ancient talisman, an amulet that had once belonged to Marzo’s ancestors, the Amulet Of Zorlan. After Marzo obtained the Amulet Of Zorlan, he went back and killed the evil mystics, who taught him. Count Marzo was driven by the suffering of evil warriors in the Dark Hemisphere. Marzo created the Shadow Beasts and travelled across Eternia and cause riots and chaos in Eternian villages as a way to lure the Eternian Royal Guard and eliminate King Miro to gain his crown. He Aligned himself with the evil Enchantress, because they had similar goals. The Enchantress and Count Marzo's efforts were continually stopped, but he managed to sneak into the Royal Palace and confront King Miro in a battle which leads to the Enchantress kidnapping King Miro and imprisoned on a floating island.

Upon hearing of their father's disappearance, Princes Randor and Keldor joined forces to drive the Shadow Beasts into the shadows of Mount Barathrum. During their battle with Marzo, Keldor unleashed the magic of the Elders onto Marzo which sentenced him to live a life of a powerless elderly man and his amulet of power was banished to the deepest depths of Eternia.

Without a crowned King Of Eternia, it was suggested that Queen Marlene take the lead. What happened next was very unclear, for Queen Marlene was murdered and Keldor was blamed for it. Prince Randor banished his brother from the Royal Palace Of Eternos

From within Despondos, Hordak began to contact Keldor in a spiritual form, influencing him to use his great magical potential to find a way to allow Hordak to return to Eternia. Now an apprentice to Hordak, Keldor knew that he of would be able to help him strengthen his powers and help him take his rightful place as king of Eternia. Keldor had stolen several books written about Dark Magic. Because these books were about such evil the kings of Eternia had outlawed them and had the books locked away. As Keldor searched through the books he came across a spell that would open a portal to the Dark Realm the source of all Dark Magic. Keldor soon found the spell to open a portal to Despondos, which allowed Hordak return to Eternia. Hordak, and many of his leading captains, stepped through the portal and found himself back on Eternia, in the temple known as Horde Sanctuary, that he built in Pre-Eternian Times. Hordak began training Keldor as his apprentice, quickly becoming a powerful mage.

The resulting war from the Horde invasion became known as the "Great Unrest". The Horde's invasion of Eternia did not go as planned, and soon they were driven back and defeated by King Randor's armies, and the magic of Castle Grayskull. Towards the end of the war, Keldor and Hordak planned to kidnap the children of the heir of the Eternian throne. The plan went arrey when, Duncan intervened and prevented them from taking both babies. However, Hordak was successful in kidnapping Princess Adora. Hordak and the Evil Horde were tricked by Keldor into using a dimensional gate to Etheria. Once on the other side, Keldor cast a spell that prevented the Horde from returning.

Though Hordak would escape with Adora, Keldor remained on Eternia, and set himself up in Snake Mountain. He became obsessed with gaining the power within Castle Grayskull, and used the information he had gained from the golden discs of knowledge and the Havoc Staff to increase his power. He recruited an army of Evil Warriors, and launched his campaign to overthrow King Randor, gain the powers of Grayskull and rule Eternia.

During the "Battle Of The Hall Of Wisdom", Keldor is mortally wounded in battle with his half-brother Captain Randor, Keldor turned to his dark-arts master Hordak to save his life. A deal was made; if Hordak helped Keldor, he would open the portal and free him once more. Hordak merged Keldor with an extra-dimensional being Demo-Man from Despondos, Keldor was forever changed into Skeletor, Overlord of Evil! Skeletor refuses to keep the deal and destroys Horde Sanctuary.
