Snout Spout - Heroic Water Blasting Firefighter
REAL NAME: Jaxton
Snout Spout is a member of the Heroic Warriors. He is a cyborg with a human body and a metal elephant head. He serves the Heroic Warriors as a firefighter, his main power being to spray jets of water, stored in a special pack on his back, from his trunk, which he refills periodically from rivers and lakes.
A peasant blond-haired from the planet of Etheria, Jaxton was abducted by Hordak and cast into his experimentation matrix called the "Warrior Machine". There, like the others, Jaxton was grafted with cybernetic parts giving him both amazing powers and a bizarre form. After crossing through a Lasergate to Eternia with the Evil Horde, Snout Spout escaped and joined with the renegade Masters of the Universe on Eternia. There he hid behind a hood and cloak, refusing to reveal his identity until he has proved himself a worthy hero. Once revealed, he joined the Masters and sometimes was on hand in Etheria to help the Great Rebellion. Later, a fairy concedes him a gift and he returns to normal, but when Hordak captures He-Man and Rio Blast, Snout Spout asks the fairy to undo the wish, knowing that he will remain a cyborg forever when it's undone, so he can use his powers to save his friends. He was one of the many Heroic Warriors to fight in the Second Ultimate Battleground.
Always the underdog, Snout Spout is insecure and paranoid about his appearance, yet never overly self-pitiful and determined to fight on against evil until he finds some way of returning to his human form. He wishes to return back to his Human form. He is called "Snout Spout" for his abilities to blast water from his cybernetic trunk, Jaxton often feels that everyone is always laughing at him. But when the Snake Men slither out and enemies attack, Snout Spout blasts them back with a super jetspray! Commentary: There are many stories surrounding the origin of this character. An unmade Filmation Cartoon reveals that he came from a race called the Hosers. I've also read that he was part of a race of elephant-humanoids from Eternia. He is sometimes referred to as “Hose Nose”. It is not clear if Hose Nose was an entirely different character than Snout Spout. In the Filmation series, he was voiced by Lou Scheimer. He had more of a stronger role in the UK Comics and other publications. There were plans to use him in the 200X series, but they didn't get that far.
