Just purchased "Last December" by Richard Paul Evans. I LOVE his Christmas books!
Don't remember. I often buy large amounts of books at garage sales and so on. That was what I did the last time I remember buying any.
Does the Power and Honor Foundation catalogue count?
If not, my last book was the Bud Spencer biography. :)
I just joined the science fiction book club and purchased a TON of books to read over the coarse of the next year:hmgrin:
The Fall -Del Torro
The Night Eternal -Del Torro
The Lost Gate Inheritance Book IV
A Dance with Dragons
11/22/63: A Novel
Out of Oz
A Game of Thrones
A Storm of Swords
A Clash of Kings
The Graveyard Book
A Feast for Crows
Picked up these old editions of these two books. Turns out the Monster Men cover is by Frank Frazetta. Cool.
Here's what I've gotten throughout the month:
1. Star Wars Omnibus: Droids and Ewoks
2. Codename Sailor V Vol.1
3. Sailor Moon Vol.4
4. Betty and Veronica Storybook (got this book today and finished it)
Bought and read within the last 30 days:
Suzanne Collins, 'The Hunger Games,' 'Catching Fire,' and 'Mockingjay'
Ransom Riggs, 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children'
Seth Grahame-Smith, 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'
Chuck Palahniuk, 'Fight Club'
MT Anderson, 'Feed'
Gary Shteyangart, 'Super Sad True Love Story'
(Admittedly, I read 'Hunger Games' and 'Fight Club' because I am going to assign these two books for my classes next quarter, 'Feed' will end up on one of my syllabi as well).
The Apologetics study bible. It helps get aound some of the language.
Snuff - Terry Pratchett
Immortal - Dean Crawford
The last books I bought:
Top of the Rock: Inside the Rise and Fall of Must See TV
Million Dollar Agent: Brokering the Dream
My Seinfeld Year (Kindle Single)
The War for Late Night: When Leno Went Early and Television Went Crazy
Well, technically I didn't purchase this somebody gave me this: Professor Woggle-bug and the Frogman of Oz. I've read the first two chapters so far and it's really good.
Brock Lesnar: Death Clutch. My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival.
VENOM - Collecting Venom #1 - #5
Never bought any of these new Venom comics as I didn't like the idea of anyone other then Brock being Venom plus I am not a great fan of military stuff, all that standing to attention, hoorahing and YES SIR stuff bores the hell out of me to the point of annoyance.
But it was on sale for £5 so I thought I may as well give it a go because, hey...it's the Venom symbiote so it might be cool.
Flash Thompson as Venom...sucks
in short Venom sucks
also what is it with jocks who are bullies becoming war heroes?
Flash bullied Peter Parker all through high school and was later made into a war hero and in Smallville Whitney used to bully Clark (which was quite brave considering Clark could have pulled him in half and threw his corpse into orbit...around Jupiter) and he later became a war hero when he died in action. Cuz yeah, jocks / bullies make the best heroes :hmshift:
I just bought A Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows by George R R Martin. I can't wait to start reading them, but I need to finish A Clash of Kings first.
Strangely so did I but I got them at a garage sale for a quarter a piece.
Star Wars: Death Troopers (Which I got autographed )
Ready Player One (I recommend to any 80's baby out there GREAT READ! *Spoilers: there is an actual contest within in the book in which you can win a Delorean from the author of the book!!! TRUE STORY!)
And just recently bought Star Wars: Darth Plagueis which I will get cracking at soon!!!
The last book I bought was the latest in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. City of something..? lol.
However, the last book I read was "The Fallen." It was wretched. I couldn't even finish it I was so annoyed.
The last two books I've read are the latest in the Star Trek: Typhon Pact series. I really must say that all the books that have followed the events of Nemesis and the series' respective endings have all been topnotch
I had a preview copy of that many moons ago and I hated it. I was like oh man here we go again. Moody dark man and love struck teenage girl.
I dont remember the last book I bought but via Amazon Vine I got The Second Empress by Michelle Moran.
