Do you need a full body armor Hordak figure?
Do you need a full body armor Hordak figure?
"I donīt care"
The armor issue never bothered me at all. The figure would have to offer something more than "full armor" for me to consider a rebuy.
I'll buy any Hordak variant but full armor isn't that exciting to me, I'd prefer Hurricane Hordak or something new.
We are not talking about other "variants" like buzzsaw or hurricane. We are just talking about a 2nd edition because now Hordak is a "sold out".
I don't really care at all. I'd rather have a much different Hordak or use the buget to make someone like Stinkor or Moss Man instead.
I don't see a reason to change the armor for a second run of the figure at all.
Maybe they could change the color of his "IMP" to blue-black or change the crossbow to a different color, but the armor can stay the same.
There are times when I think people are a little insane about stuff like this. I never saw the armor thing as being an issue and it's kind of amazing what small details people will find to harp on no matter how good the rest of the figure turned out to be. I vote "I don't care", because... seriously.
There's no need to change anything.
Depends on how it looks, I guess. I'm all for figures getting improvements with subsequent releases. However, here it's really not a big issue for me.
I just think that spending money to retool a re-release would be better spent on a new character who might require more unique tooling.
I would absolutely love for the re-release of Hordak to sport the full armor. The half-armor approach is the main reason as to why I didn't purchase the recently released version of the ruthless leader.
I said yes, but I am buying new moc ones anyway because ot the titlechange on the packaging...
No, I'm not going to buy Hordak just for that when he is re-released, I'm not a completist like that, since I already managed to order my two Hordaks, that I wanted.

if they're gonna add money to retool him, I vote instead of changing the armor (which I see no reason to change), that they give him his 200X loincloth, and 'mantle' instead.
that would be a better use of the money.
If they change the armor to full armor, I can almost guaruntee that you guys won`t get one next round either. Does anyone realize they more thay change the second releases the more people will pick up a second Hordak:hmwink:
I'm fine with how he is. But here is a suggestion for the folks who want "full" armor. Maybe if and when Mattel makes a weapons pack, they could put full armor for Hordak, He-Ro, and whatever else in it to please fans. Hopefully that would make everyone happy. Just a thought.
Yes. In a heartbeat.
But I'd REALLY want a full armour hordak to be released with blue skin and a blue imp and white crossbow
Whats the deal people. If you don't remove his cuirass then he IS FULLY ARMORED! This whole debate over sculpted abs is silly, the figure looks great, great enough to sellout in less than 1 hour mind you, so I'm not sure Mattel would waste time on redoing the armor. Besides, I think the armor as it is now looks waaaay cooler than a piece that fit over his whole torso. If you remember, the original, he looked like a fat guy because it had to be soo large of a piece.
for a lot of people "It has to be just like I remember" is a powerful force you cannot argue with. Even if the result makes more sense.
He-Ro doesn't need it. The original prototype doesn't appear to even have removable armor, and if he did, then the abs were sculpted onto said armor, and therefore the current half-armor/painted abs solution works PERFECTLY.
Hordak however doesn't, so they sculpted a new abdomen for him to alleviate the problem, and again, the solution works PERFECTLY.
I think part of this comes from the fact that many fans think Mattel should do things a certain way, despite the fact that it's Mattel's property, and if they choose to do something a certain way, then that's the right way, for all intents and purposes.
even if fans dislike or disagree with it, and even if it kills the line (as was the case with them doing things a certain way regardin the handling of case ratios in 2002).
not that I think a simple thing like armor size will kill this line. Hordak's sell-out is enough to prove that this isn't even really an issue.
I like Hordak as is. He's brilliant. I'd rather see a blue skinned variant than full armor, but thats just me.
I'd buy him no matter what. I like either look so I'm in.
Put me down as yes. The latest Hordak's armor looks so stupid. If he must have the ab articulation, then I would have much rather have seen his sexy abs (like the new Webstor figure showing his), than the mess we have now.
