I could dig the idea of "Avatar" being a bad guy. I wonder if the name Avatar would be OK, though. Mattel does have the liscence to Cameron's film, so.... ;)

That's what this one is that I did and he's ugly to me. I guess it would be a good one for people that want a hairy flesh colored body to use and customize.

Hmmm... actually, I think if the wings were rotated toward the front (as many have done with Stratos, so that the wings are better positioned), the above figure as depicted in J_Man's post would be rather nice.
*lol, a more appropriate pose would help too. Right now, with the spread open legs in that image, he looks like he's about to lay an egg, do some jumpin' jacks, or take part in a scandalous photo shoot of some sort.

I'm not that keen on a new Stratos - especially not an evil one. Stratos was never evil IMO so there's no need to make him evil now.
A re-fresh/repaint could be ok (with reversed colours, Beast Man feet and a staff), but that flesh coloured version looks wrong.

I don't think he looks 'flesh tone' in this picture. He seems to have a sandy colored look - like the fur on a camel. Also, his face and body are a different color.
A possible name for the character could be "Nikko: Evil avatar of Skeletor." Nikko was the name given to the leader of the flying monkeys in the credits of The Wizard of Oz movie. The name Nikko comes from the Japanese city of the same name (Nikkō), where the famous Three Wise Monkeys shrine ("See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil") is located. In the western world the phrase is often used to refer to those who deal with impropriety by looking the other way, refusing to acknowledge it, or feigning ignorance. Those traits could possibly be worked into the character.

Really good mock-up J_man! I think probably the furry loin cloth should be blue and the belt should be red, but that's just my guess.
I confess I'm not really that interested in Stratos though. I hope his fans can get him though.
I think that this character would be a nice nod to the past. Probably best to have him come from Wun-Dar's era. It would be interesting if his people were at war with the heroes back then, and then somewhere down the road they came to peace with each other.
I'm fond of the Avion type names. In my MOTU world, there was a Stratos species character named CIRRUS. Stratosphere.... cirrus clouds... you see why I'm a genius... :hmlol:
Throw in the suggestion: CIRRUS.
Perhaps the guy ran with the baddies and that complicates Stratos' history a bit.... righting the wrongs of his ancestors, perhaps?
