Oh wow that Castle Grayskull is so awesome. How long did it take you to build it?
Planning and research + ordering parts + experimenting + more planning and research + waiting for more parts to show up = ~2½ month
looks cool man!
Very cool piece man.. Allthough wouldn't Lego be doing a molded skull piece these days?
Amazing love it....
wow, this is totally amazing!
:hmeek: OMG! Marwarscreator, everything you've created in here is amazing! Holy shnikes! *thumbs up*
For Grayskull I expected a different color scheme, but the build is great nontheless! You captured all the iconic looks and details pretty well.
That´s just prejudice. If you´re talking about Bionicle or the follow-ups (Hero Factory), then the answer would be yes. But LEGO themes nowadays are using just as many bricks to build complex structures as they did 30 years ago. The only difference is that there is a far greater palette of different shaped bricks, like slopes, wedges, tiles in different lengths and so on. If anything, an official Grayskull nowadays would be a more interesting build than it would have been in the 80ies.
I'm upgrading my 'playset' to 2.0...
This will be added on the door:

All but the basic shield itself is inspired from exsisting LEGO parts.
I was wondering what the figures would look like in there. With the Defender you get an representation. Nicely done. Are you doing any more of the roster?
I don´t know if I like the changes you made to the trap door and the window to fit the Guardian... can we see a less closer pic?
I do have som unfinished experiments from last year, so if I can find/get the proper parts... :hmroll:
The playset is undergoing a major facelift, so consider the picture as a teaser :hmwink:
And I'll do a groupshot of the figs in front of the new castle  (wonder if I can fit them all in there though)
I'll take the teaser! hehe You always do awesome work with your LEGOs! I wish I had the amount of them you do & your talent for building such awesomeness!
I thank you very much for the kind words :hmblsh:
Make it a 2-3 days test-project and reassemble Lord Vampyre's Castle afterwords :hmwink: (I do that to sets if I find the right inspiration in it)
another amazing piece: congrats!
Thanks :)
Easter Teaser Update:

According to my plan, I should get the final parts I need within the next couple of weeks - so, with a bit of luck I will be posting pictures of the whole castle in May
all i can say is wow:hmeek:
Have you put any of this up on Lego's Cuusoo page?
I think we have enough people on here that would go over and support it if it was broadcast enough.
