How do we know? What does his name even mean? I've never understood it lol
When Rio-Blast is made in the Classics Line, I hope that he has his 200X gun arm. That would be really cool.
At this point, I'm betting he'll be a Q1 2015 figure.
Revealed at 2014 Toy Fair, so he joins the regular section!
He couldn't have turned out better. Just a spectacular figure!
YESSSSS!!!!!! Guess Tung is def coming in 2015.
Never been into him, still am not. Was actually wishing he was pushed into 2015 for selfish reasons. Happy for those of you who really wanted him. On a side not, does anyone else think he looks like Frank Gallagher from Shameless?
I'm super geeked
YES FINALLY RIO NO RIOT!!! That's it The only reason I subbed this year and now I can get out, nothing left on the wish list but Son of He-man mini sub so. This cements it, best of luck to all those willing enough to keep subbing. RIO BLAST!!!!
Can we get this man a pic in his own thread?
Now we're talking!
Rio Blast never belonged into MOTU for me. He should have been a Bravestarr character, fits perfectly.
This guy now finishes off all the vintage heroic warrior guys(except for that rotarr guy)
OH YEEEAH! Awesome! Just awesome! Kinda wish they would have worked in some extra hands so he could hold things, but this is still an expected pose. Most important part is that all the details are updates spectacularly!
He looks really, really good. I do wish he had more 200x though.
I absolutely can NOT wait for this guy!
Now, I want my Rio Blast emoticon!!!!
I think he looks amazing, I am super surprised we are seeing him in 2014, would have thought for sure that Extendar in 2014 meant Rio in 2015. If I could change one thing it would be to make his haircut more like the vintage figure, looks a bit 200X inspired to me. I can't wait for the final figure, and am very interested to see how they integrate his 'action feature.'
OK. So what parts are new and which as re-used?
It looks like the standard male torso. The blue armor is fitted over it. The shoulders and biceps are obviously standard. As are the upper legs. The lower legs are definitely new. The thigh-guns must be a separate piece that is placed into those brown flaps that fold down. The chest also folds down, then a separate gun piece is placed onto it. The hands, forearms, and head are new. I am not sure about the feet. They may be new or re-used, I can't tell.
Another awesome highly detailed head sculpt much like Fisto, Jistu, and Clamp Champ! I am now officially sold on a vintage character I never liked. I'd love to see a 200X Rio head included.
He just needs a visor or eyepiece too. That 200X figure sets the standard, love that gun arm.
I have mixed thoughts about the hair - but dig the stache.
Please tell me someone managed to get a pic of his face, not at this angle! I want to see his back as well. This is the figure I have been wanting from day one, more than any other!
I love the overt attempt in the head sculpt to make him look even more space cowboy, with the 'furry' handlebar mustache and such. Love-Love-Love how this guy turned out! Wish his chest piece revealed a pop-out gun also (didn't the vintage?), but I'll take what I can get. I thought for sure we'd be waiting on this guy until 2015, but Scott turned the whole lineup on its ear but dropping this guy on us. I couldn't be happier overall. He looks fantastic.
