Exactly and they were SDCC exclusives too :hmwink: So again you were not locked in to buy them. It's my 2 cents, if you don't like then :hmtung:

After hearing this latest batch of news concerning a 3-Pack at SDCC, and the hype surrounding the '30 years' comment that TG mentioned at the New York Toy Fair, I remembered a thread started by Catra's Wrath last summer at the Matty Forums entitled, "Ltd. Edition Filmation Three Packs: How much would you pay?"
Quick recap:
Many on these forums have wanted Mattel to acquire the Filmation rights for quite some time now, so wouldn't it be great if that's what the announcement entailed ?Quote:
Hey He fans and She Ravers!
Ok, first off I want to stress this is not an official Mattel question, I really want to stress that right from the start. We all know that Filmation characters are not currently available.
But, if they ever were and you could buy a 'Platinum edition Masters of the Universe Classics Filmation three pack' , say once a year, which of these would you most be interested in, and how much would you be willing to pay for them? (and I mean the absolute highest you'd go). Again, this is just me brain storming with you on what you would love to see as the line progresses, this in no way an indication of what's to come.
Imagine the figures were done in the Masters of the Universe Classics style, in the same kind of presentation boxes as say Mo-Larr (so open front window with diorama background) and the Classics style brick work box.
So, in an ideal world, if you could pick any two of these three pack suggestions which would you go for? and how much would you go up to in price for them?
1. The Filmation Femme Fatales of the Horde set: Shadow Weaver, Scorpia and Octavia
2. The Filmation Warriors of the Whispering Woods set: Madame Razz, Broom, Sea Hawk, and a Twigget
3. The Filmation Demons of the Dark set: Shokoti, Evil Seed, and Icor
4. The Filmation Fearless Flyers set: Hawk, Dre-al and Delora
5. The Filmation Fearless Fighters of the Fright Zone set: Imp, General Sundar, Prince Zed
Regards,
Victor P.
Nope your wrong there my friend, i picked this rounds questions and i went through all of the previous questions and made sure i didnt pick one that had already been picked, and by the way your question was a good one.
:hmlol:

I never saw the above thread as it was on matty and as hard a selection it would have been i would have picked number 1 and 2. Boy if Mattel down a 3pk of filmation boy id be throwing punches into the air with excitment. If i had to pick one though it would be number 1 with Shadow Weaver, Scorpia and Octavia, that would be a no brainer.
I read "high piece count" to mean that they're making lots of them. That made me think of Horde Troopers.
Star Sisters would be cool. My initial though was three small figures, Kowl, LooKey and Old Man Marzo maybe?
Not that anyone cares about the other questions, but I asked in the Ask Matty section on Matty if they could use removable stickers on the weapons instead of printing 'China' if it was a legal requirment.
When do we find out?
I definitely think that the "high piece count" exclusive is Modulok...that would be freaking fantastic! The more Horde we get, the better. Although the Star Sisters would be cool, I have a feeling the three-pack will be three smaller figures. Otherwise, the price point would be too high. I couldn't see it going higher than $40. Lookie and Kowl could be considered, but it would be really cool to get a Cringer. Prince Adam last year and his faithful companion this year. I REALLY want a Cringer. :)
These comments by TG were meant to throw everyone off.
He wants everyone to think it's Modulok (or Multi-bot) & The Star Sisters.
What if the 3-pack is not figures? What of it's accessory pieces (like the Grayskull cannon and flag)?
Then again, it could be one of those Filmation 3-packs mentioned by Catra's Wrath.
Who knows?
I stillsay Marlena is part of this. And I'm going to guess Cringer might still be.
WOW I forgot about that poll he did.... Thats... gotta be what this is then! OMG OMG OMG!!!
SCORPIA, SHADOW WEAVER, SCORPIA!!!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEAAASE... Or SeaHawk could be in there too I guess...
Part of me hopes its themed... like the above, or Shokoti, Melectha, Masque, OR The Star Sisters... as opose to just three random filmation characters that aren't really connected to eachother.
I hope its something really "out there" and unexpected
The Star Sisters would fit that bill - I really hope we get them as a 3-pack with the Gory-Bird too.
The other figure I would guess it either be Modulok, Multi-Bot or Extendar
Maybe the 3 packs the most expensive SDCC exclusive ever, and is the ABC giants (man that would kill on shipping alone.
Just throwing it out there!:hmlol:
Maybe they'll give us Marlena and our first 200X variants at the same time, as a pack with Marlena, Young Adam and Captain Randor?
I seriously doubt that the three pack would be a Filmation pack. Even if we disregard the comment Toyguru made about not "weaving any shadows", in the off chance they obtained the Filmation rights that would most likely be an announcement saved to be made at SDCC, while the exclusives will be revealed beforehand.
I think that one right there proves this wasn't official. Filmation Hawke & Delora were identical from the neck down:

Do Filmation Delora, but MYP Hawke...
[Other points include counting Imp as a full member of a three-pack, but the larger Broom as an extra in another; and doing a Filmation Evilseed in some sort of limited-run thing when they can do MYP Evilseed any time]
I'd love it if the 3-pack was Shokoti, Lord Masque, and...uh...Stanlan? While I know there's as much chance of that as there is that the announcement will be a MOTU porno, but I can still dream, can't I?
What if the 3 pack is Vintage He-Man, 200X He-Man and MOTUC He-Man?
It will be a Filmation 3 pack that will only be available at SDCC, just like Gleek :tjlol:
I thought about this today too.
They did this for Batman as a TRU exclusive a few years ago.
I would HATE this. It would be the first MOTUC I wouldn't buy :(
I don't need a 200X He-Man (I have a million of them). I have my vintage He-Man and the Commemorative one too.
I do NOT need yet another MOTUC He-Man :(
I think your idea is a good one, but if it's Mattel's idea too? Boo :(
I agree, something like this would be really disappointing. However, I think it's unlikely- something like this would be a commemorative set and the 30th is technically in 2012 right? Anything to do with 2012 is likely to be an announcement to promote the sub and the upcoming year's activity...
I dare not get my hopes up for the Star Sisters. I think the $25 item is going to be Modulok. I think Mattel would be pushing it in this economy to have people buy a $25 item AND a $60 item at the same time.
I think the 3-pack is more likely to contain one of the following: Gwildor, Cringer, Old Man Marzo, Oediphus. Cringer's bio would be included in the Convention version, and Gwildor's bio would be for the Matty version. Making Old Man Marzo even more likely, because Marzo already has a bio out and wouldn't need one here.
Getting the Star Sisters or any POP three pack now would just be too good to be true.
The mor I think about it, the more I think BCRDuke is onto something about the $25 one being Oo-Lar. He could have extra parts. The bio for the convention could be for a "mini-comic" continuity He-Man. The Matty bio would be for the character of Oo-Lar. They can re-use the statue and just refer to him as a barbarian He-Man at the convention - thus giving them a big name to use.
I was standing in my shower, there it hit me.
The high piece SDCC 2011 exclusive wonīt likley be Modulok, only because they donīt usually release to many figures of one fraction and with Catra, Leech and Hurricane Hordak coming already, i donīt see that happen.
There is still that rumor that Queen Marlena is coming out and maybe she is this high piece Exclusive.
Two heads, maybe two bodies one body with switchable legs and skirt like King Hsss and the other is a BATTLE ARMOR(i just wanted to use the word battle) as she is no A-list character and they said they would only do variants for those.
And as a re-reales sheīll only comes single carded in her green dress and a different bio as also mentioned.
