Hi guys, after all calm down here in japan im back to my favorite MOTU community and backing to my MOTU game project.
Im working in the video game industry per 5 years, im 3d designer (Maya and z brush), animator and i script and code a bit.
The project i started and stoped after all happened here in japan is continue again :)
ok, the game? Yes im working in a 3D fighting game with all our love 2D game play. At the moment the code name will be MOTU FGP (Fighting game Project)
The project status
I have a 80% he-man model and textures done and started with the fighting engine system.
For what platform is it?
Will run in Win and Mac.
When we can see something about MOTUCode Name : FGP?
I will try to finish he-man next week but im upping some screens of the prototype model and how it looks in the engine.
MOTU Characters, cool! but Classic or 200x style?
I love the first 4 mini comics so i want to make this project at classic i can :)
How Many Characters?
At the moment i will finish he-man and make some animations for him for develop more the engine. But there not he-man without skeletor so i will work in skeletor and i hope if all run well, make a couple of characters, maybe 10 characters, males and females.
How much will cost it?
0$ It will be free! cause I love 3D, what i do and Im a bit fan of MOTU, this project is a hobby for me so Not business with this. will be free!
Cause i only can work in this on weekends the progress will be slow but i will continue working in it :)
How you can help?
At the moment all is too primary to tell you how you can help but Im looking for good ideas and design for stages, art backgrounds for the stages and maybe in other time art for the characters.
Sounds great to me!
A few days ago I started looking at some game engines to try them out and figure out which would be best for a fighting game. Which one are you using? or are you starting from scratch? I found out Crystal Space, Irrlitch and Ogre3D be good starting points.
In my job used Unity3D a couple of times so im using this engine for the game.
A MOTU fighting game!?!? I love MOTU and I love fighting games. So the combination of both had always had been a dream of mine since I got hook on fighting games. 2D is even my fave version of all. So this is definitely get a watch!
thanks GrtEternal, im posting tonight some pics of the preliminar model of he-man and thins week put it in the 3d engine. if looks good i will continue with skeletor and bones for make animations.
well here is the prototype of the model of he-man in low poly with normal maps. he is missing a lot of details but he-man will be complete this week end.
My good friend Santy will help me with the skeletor model so i will have more time to make the skeleton bones for animate he-man soon :)
Very cool! Excellent!
some updates in the model and starting with the rigging, bones, and skinning for test animations.
well is time to finish to add details to the models and start to make others characters.
Here the final He-man and starting with Faker.
Critics will be welcome :)
very cool, i've done a lot of texture work for the pc game freedom force, and the skin work here is top notch
any problems with clipping on the harness during animation.
thanks the_ultimate_evil, i want to see more of your work.
I still working with my friend "Santy" in Skeletor, the armor of Faker will be done tomorrow :)
so this weekend i will work hard in the skeleton/bind and skinning, this part will be a really pain...
It looks really nice!!! Congrats.
here faker with the armor.
BTW, it's not a render. is how he looks in the game engine already :)
mmm, seeing He-man i think he need more saturation color in the orange bracelets and hair...
Looking very good indeed!!
I'd love to help out with ideas etc.
Will be keeping a close eye on this project.
This looks absolutely tremendous!!!:hmeek:
thanks, i will work a bit more in the faker armor, looks a bit sharp for me...
Very Awesome! Can't wait to see more.
I always lamented not having a 2D fighter back in the day, He-man would have been awesome in Street Fighter style.
Keep up the great work.
Wow, that's freakin' perfect! The proportions are like real versions of the original figures. Well done, this is lookin' great!
cheers mate i'm updating a lot of them at the mo but if you check my gallerys on here you can see them

My goodness, you've got quite a bit of talent! I look forward to the completed project!!!
AMAZING !!! And I so love the fact that you're making it for Mac as well :)
Looks really neat so far. :)
I think you should separate your Faker colour-scheme into two sets tho', so you can have Anti-Eternia He-man as an unlockable character. None of this half-and-half stuff. ;)
Orange Hair/Harness and bright blue skin Faker, and black skin+red hair Anti-He-man.
Heh, heh... Just kidding tho, any way you want to do it, you're the art-director. =)
Will the game be open source btw?
thanks a lot guys your support help me to keep working in it.
i have some progress of the rest of the armor of skeletor, i think i will have stg to show next week.
from today i will work in the animation system, a base for all characters and make the character walk, jump and the rest of basic animations work in the engine.
About the rest of the character after skeletor the next will be the girls group. Evil Lyn, Teela and the Green Goodess.
Predabot, for character variations if is just change colors i will love to add variations like Faker Armor Color (pink? and orange), Evil Lyn both skins color (yellow and human one), Teela both hair color, etc.
I will try to add the variations like a option after select the character in the select screen.
About Anti He-man will be a great idea. Any pics of reference will help :)
It will run in PC and MAC. I really want to make it for multiplayer network and at the moment looks like it will work.
Unfortunately it will NOT be opensource but will be free game made from a MOTU FAN, me :)
