I joined up!
Alright, I sent the friend request (after I found out how to make it so no one in my friends list thinks I'm using Facebook all the sudden and wants to talk to me because of it) but I'm quoting PrinceAdam101 to steal his thoughts on the subject and adapt them as my own, since that's exactly how I feel about it as well.
I joined. 5,000 here we come.
Now joined, come on 5,000  I really hope were not setting ourselves up for a fall :hmlol:
As much as I would love to get Illumina made. Mostly due that I know it would make one Italian man and the biggest MOTU fan very happy! But it will not happen cause Toyguru will make sure it doesn't! He will use the word Logistics and throw out some random reasons til the cows come home. You will see Ram Man before Illumina. Just watch! If we get 5000. We'll hear the excuse. People will be going on a rampage. And he will sit back and laugh!
i don't have a facebook.. so.. sorry.!
I'm not on Face Book either, or I'd "Like" the page too. Is there another way to gather names, or did Scott say this was one of the few methods they would acknowledge as proof of demand? FB is not for everyone.
Then you'll be happy to know that we are a mere 5 people away from 2% of our goal. :hmlol:
I know, but unfortunately there isn't a platform out there that IS for everyone. I see social media tools as a great way to guage interest as each account is a clear indicator of an individual, unique person that is showing interest.
If anyone has better ideas, feel free to share them. But for now, we work with what we've got. :hmwink:
Request sent.
Why is she any different from the green goddess? We got her too.
Request sent.
I wonder if a page we could just hit like on wouldn't be a better way to go?
I asked to join. :D I'm Original Ryan. :3
Here is the joint bio for the fan demanded Mighty Spector/Illumina 2-pack! (um, ignore the asterisks. I pasted this in and I guess the forumn didn't like me typing elsewhere ;) )
THE MIGHTY SPECTOR
Real Name: Lt. Scott Spector
*
ILLUMINA THE UNWORTHY
Real Name: Illumina
*
In an attempt to seize absolute power and become Master of the Universe, Palace Guardsman Lt. Spector stole a new prototype of the Cosmic Key from Gwildor’s lab.* Not understanding the vast new power in the small key, Spector accidentally transported himself into the past and onto the Gar planet Infinitia, taking with him an unstable weapon confiscated from the Horde army.* The transportation activated the weapon and it’s explosions set about the total destruction of the planet.* *Only a small number of refugees were able to escape to the planet Eternia **One of the few remaining Gar now on Eternia, Illumina discovered the truth about her planet’s fate and pieced together her own crude version of the cosmic key.* She now travels through time and space chasing the vile Spector to extract her people’s revenge.* Along the way, Illumina has gathered a rag-tag team of misfits harmed by Spector in his chaotic joy-ride through the time stream.* Among these Exiles are:* The former Eternian Dentist, Mo-Larr: Eternian Torturer; Josh: Heroic Bringer of the Potato Salad; Songster; Jewelstar, found in an alternate reality going by the name “Toy Design” and Ram-Man: The Last Man Found at the End of Time.*
Joined! I can't believe Mattel even acknowledged this.
As long as I'm willing to monitor the page, I don't see the difference. I can't see any of your personal information, so the privacy settings appear to be the same. And as for your part, clicking "Like" or clicking "Ask to join" really seems to generate the same amount of effort. :hmlol:
Joined the facebook group. Bandwagon'ed.
It just really irked me when I read the comments that were made on the subject of making Illumina. I'll be perfectly honest, I wasn't really familiar with the character before today (totally a fan now though ), despite seeing her referenced numerous times on the site over the years. However obscure she may be, though, the character was one that fans were drawn to without her being forced on them (unlike some of the concept characters that Mattel has ALREADY included in the line that no one even knew existed). It seems really insulting to me that Mattel is dismissive when the fans want an obscure character made, yet the fans have supported Mattel's obscure characters that had NO initial fan demand. Sure, 50 or 171 vocal fans may not seem like a lot asking for a figure, but you know what's less than that? The 0 people who were clamoring for Vikor or Demo-man. I'm not trying to make the argument that they're bad, just that Illumina would be just as good if not much, much better.
I posted every single picture of Illumina that I know is available on the web! Took a while. I credited everyone too! :D
33 Pictures!

Sent a request. Not one of my favorites, but I have a sub and have no problem with getting her.
I think 5,000 was like a spit in our face. The figure was not a top pick for me for any stretch but since they spit in my face as a fan I want her bad now.
Kind of reminds me of my Star Wars collecting days when it took YEARS for begging to get some of our favorites while we got bs about why they wouldn't throw us a bone and make such figures as Boshek and Captain Antilles.
Good luck my fellow orgers, I hope we win!
She's based on an 80's MOTU concept character some people think is where Illumina evolved from. I decided to put it in there because the artist is one of those people who thinks that.
EDIT: Here's the 80's concept art:

Fully joined now.
Maybe, maybe not. I'm on board with the theory that it is what Illumina was based off of. Toyguru said Gygor, Vikor, Demo-Man, etc. were "easier" to show the bosses because they had history.
Well, there's this 80's concept and the 200X Illumina. This, in the eyes of Mattel's big wigs, would show her as more of a "legitimate" character, based on Toyguru's latest answers.
