FINALLY!
I figured this was coming. Just had a feeling it had to happen eventually. Pretty exciting a company like DC is doing it, exposure wise. I'm really intrigued by the basic premise of the series too. Man I hope it's good. The art looked pretty cool in the article.
It's weird to see the (rather annoyingly dismissive) attitude that MTV Geek seems to have about He-man. I guess I didn't realize people thought He-man was that cheesy.
Interesting! Yay James Robinson, boo Phillip Tan. Where're Val and Emiliano when we need them...?
WOOT! This will be good. I think this bodes well for the line.
Exciting! I think the idea for the book sounds fun, too!
But argh...I wish people would quit misspelling 'Grayskull!' :hmlol:
It's about time! Hopefully this will kick start some other things!
WOW, great news overall!! :hmgrin::skgrin:
I'm not too sure I like where the story may be headed, but I'll hope for the best!!
It's also too bad that it's only slated to be a six issue series. I'd love to get an ongoing comic series that properly tells the MOTUC canon. There are lots of stuff in the MOTUC canon that I'm not fond of, but I still find the whole story interesting.
Just noticed the top of Grayskull looks a bit weird in that pic though. :) I think He-man (and the sword!) look good.

This is good to hear! I'm excited to pick them up.
From the sounds of it, this isn't taking place in the MOTUC canon from the bios. It sounds like a completely original story. I'm surprised by that, but at the same time totally cool with it!
Im happy it's not following the MOTUC cannon  I'm really liking the parallel universe-esq concept that he's planning. A good day for MOTU fans!
I'm not too surprised. I mean, I feel like Scott has readily acknowledged that the MOTUC bio canon is really just about maximizing the amount of toys that can be made versus telling a dramatic tale. I had a sense there was that understanding there. I'm glad it is the case. There are things I like in the bios that would just be a nightmare in storytelling terms.
I'm happy about that as well. I mean you can't really tell too much of a story in just 6 issues.
The real reason I'd like to see an ongoing MOTUC comic is because I'd love to read stories where He-Man regularly interacts with characters like Hydron, Sweet Bee, Draego-Man and all the others encompassed in MOTUC.
This is AMAZING news!!!!! I have been clamoring for some new MOTU entertainment of any kind! I am a comic book reader and think that this is great!! I truly hope this does well and that it will turn into an ongoing series!!!! It would give me another addiction beyond the Walking Dead series/show and collecting MOTUC's:)
I'm on cloud 9 right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
NOTE: the only thing that could have made this new better would have been the involvement of Val and Emiliano. They rocked it out with the 200X comic series:)
Awesome! I can't wait for the new stories to come out. But does anyone else get the sense that the interviewer didn't exactly do his/her homework before the interview, or that they just got someone who had a very generic familiarity with MOTU to ask the questions?
This is awesome! I'll have to check in Previews to make sure I order it!
Knowing how the comic industry works these days, I'm guessing it's a six part series to start (and maybe even a series of minis at first) to gauge readership interest before launching an ongoing. I hope it works. I haven't bought a comic series in a long time but I'll be buying this one, of course. The first issue is out in July, so hopefully it'll get a big SDCC push.
Shame you can't order these from Matty with your figs. :hmsad:
woooow a great day for this "cheesy" property.
Best MOTU news we had in a long, long time
Yay:skgrin:
Awesome!
Most of the MOTUC bios are pretty awful, so I'm glad it won't be based off them.
