It's kind of strange to see servants inside Castle Grayskull... Weird... :hmlol:
The art isn't that great this issue, it seems. But I'm still intrigued to see where it goes. That Grayskull is fine for Skeletor's twisted world. I hope it's not the regular version though. Kind of uninspired.
Still, excited to read the actual story. I loved this quote about Adam and Teela:
Quote:
"There was never a romantic interest. They were just really, really close friends, and I wanted to keep that. I don't want them to suddenly kiss and have feelings for one another. We don't have that many good, solid guy/gal friendships in comics or in media."
So i went & got the first issue ( i normally dont buy or read comics but its He-Man) & i was a bit underwhelmed.
It seemed very short & like nothing happend. Are comics usually this short & im just not use to it or was it like this on purpose?
Meh, Im just not feeling this new vision.
I wish we had a comic with the Classics designs. :(
This new issue looks good! I like how Skeletor is portrayed - a bit movie Skeletor like. CG looks quite good - I like seeing new designs
Loving Castle Grayskull and the mood depicted on that page; how the castle has changed since Skeletor took over.
So Grayskull is the first redesign I'm not overly ok with. It looks like the Hall of Doom from Super Friends. In that picture it looks more like a small fort rather than a castle. Hopefully, it's only that design in the alternate future and when they defeat Skeletor it reverts back to a more classic design.
I cannot wait for this issue to hit.
I'm okay with the redesigns, but would have preferred a more classic look. I'm only worried that, if they keep moving at that pace, this six issue miniseries will have a rather abrupt ending.
I'm excited fo rthe new issue tomorrow! Redesigns aside, this quote by Mr. giffen makes me optimistic about what we'll (hopefuly) see:
Quote:
"Adam's an interesting guy in his own right, and you're beginning to see in him the qualities that make him He-Man.
"The sword is just something that, as far as I'm concerned, gives him a physical transformation and puts him in the clothes, but the mind and the morality defines the character as He-Man since they are the same person."
Good god.
CG looks terrible. Almost everytime I see a character the proportions are off. Has Skeletor turned into Darth Vader?
Un. In. Spired.
That Castle Grayskull is a complete joke. Utterly pathetic. I think the art overall is just not good. I don't like it one bit. Skeletor is way too huge... he looks like he wouldn't even fit in that Castle Grayskull, and everything is just off, proportions, colors, everything. Not impressed at all.
Also in the page with Beastman kneeling before Skeletor, why is there an extra box around them? That makes no sense, and it looks BAD!
Yeah, I don't get that extra box, either.
I do like the redesign of BeastMan, especially since they lessened the stupid mohawk.
But Skeletor and Castle Grayskull look utterly ridiculous. Why make Skeletor huge like that? That would be like making Lex Luthor or the Joker super-buff as well, stupid. Skeletor looks like Darkseid a little.
I agree this is the only part (so far) of this new take that I'm not keen on. We have Adora if they really wanted explore a brother/sister type relationship.
I LOVE how imposing Skeletor is - he's been big and bulky since day one, it's only since 200X he's sometimes depicted as weedy and frail (physically) when compared to He-Man.
I also really like "Skeletor's" version of CG - but then I also like the new Evil-Lyn - wat do I know...?:hmshift:
I don't see Geffen's view all that different than what we got in Filmation. Teela always had a thing for He-man, not Adam. That's what I like about it. She saw Adam more as a brother.
Oh, that's Trapjaw on the front of #2.. I thought it was a badly drawn Skeletor at first. Not a good sign

Glad to hear I'm not the only one utterly cheesed off with modern cmic story-telling methods. Do book publishers sell novels one chapter at a time? There'd be an uproar if they did, but with comics it's okay for some reason.
Where's this Castle Grayskull you guys are looking at?
You're better off not seeing it... :sklol:
But if you really want to see it...
Maybe when Skeletor is ruling Eternia it effected looks of places like Castle Grayskull too.
