Granite Bear - Indomitable Warrior Bear

Hi friens!

I'm working at new MotU Custom... his name is Granite Bear... (my nickname on He-man.org; in IT Orsogranito as GraniteBear)...:hmlol:

Granite Bear is a member of an ancient race of Warriors Bears that lives in the remotest mountains of Eternia. These warriors are bitter enemies of Icer's kingdom of ice.
Granite Bear is a good friend of Barkskin (another my old custom), who live the old forest on the slopes of the remotest mountains.
The rest of bio is also under construction. :hmwink:

I think that the hardest thing to do on this custom, is build a good armor on the body... as seen on The Golden Compass film.

I used Gygor body and I sculpted the head. (I recovered Gygor teeth).

After I cut (shortned) the arms of ex-ape.

Tomorrow I will scuplting new hands and feet with "important" claws as Wolverine.

Have you seen the bear character in the Power & honor book? Its armor is wicked, I would really like to see it into figure form. Good luck with your custom, looks good so far.

I instantly thought you should make another and paint him red! RED BEAST to hang out with Demo-Man from the early concept drawings!

Okay. That's a brilliant idea. I never would have thought of that body working for anything that isn't gorilla-like. Looks great.

My first thought exactly, because a faux-fur flocked Gygor buck colored red with new head as Mark Taylor's Red Beast is exactly what I've been wanting them to make for a while!!

This is a new image. The claws are sculpted to 80% , but I'm not sure to leave them so long. Is an experiment. :hmroll:

What do you think? Claws long as in image or a little shorter?

Claw length looks fine to me as long as they are stable.

I think you could go half that length and still have the desired look. These look borderline like those fingernails from the wrong side of town hoochies:hmroll:...

Yeah, I'd go with shorter, more realistic claws. What material do you use for sculpting?

I usually use Milliput Silver-Gray.

That Bear looks awesome so far and I can't wait to se the final version!

I'm using a lot of putty and a lot of time in this custom, because the bear is very great; actually I'm modeling large parts of armor...

and then...I'm building two customs at the same time.
