Gotta be a movie announcement.
Gotta be a movie announcement.
Its just probably announcing the new dvd delux release.
Robert Pattinson shows up announcing he's He- Man.
Probably a new mini-sub of sticker sheets.
Maybe a new figure? They could call him "Logistics".
Scott is stepping aside, and vertigoink is the new brand manager.
They acquired the ThunderCats license!!
So sorry, I just woke up from that dream and felt the need to discuss it.
The TRIUMPHANT return of rubber-band hips and squishy heads.
Not really. It'll be the movie. Surprise guest John Chu. Introducing Channing Tatum as He-Man. Dude is the biggest deal in movies this year, so I wouldn't be completely surprised. After Duke and He-Man are done, he'll go on to play Matt Trakker, Bravestarr, all 4 Ninja Turtles and Agent Etch A. Sketch: Criminal Compilation Artist.
Seriously though, I'll take whatever makes a financially successful film and brings me more toys.
Seriously sometimes people push the bounds of sanity here. If the line was being cancelled it certainly would not be hyped at all, and I really doubt the announcement would be made a Powercon.
Now as for what it is I figure some kind of movie news is most likely. I cannot imagine that it will be Castle Grayskull or the Battleram, not with all the "if" there is a 2014 and 135% is not enough. I also doubt it will be news about 2014, it is just too early and I doubt we will hear much about that until New York Toyfair at the earliest. At the very least not until 2013.
I won't get my hopes too high,
If we're lucky it will be Battle Ram...
I don't think they would announce the movie on such a small event as Power-Con...
that's a SDCC announcement...
and I don't expect Grayskull either...
The only thing about the movie though is that *if* it just recently was signed off on *that* type of news would never make it all the way to SDCC 2013.
It would most certainly leak soon after being official so they really wouldn't have much of a choice of when or where to do it due to the timing.
My best guess is that its either
A) a new cartoon
B) Motu is going to have some sort of mass market toy isle line again
C) both of the above
I'd love movie news, but it seems way too soon to really announce anything of note for a film unless they somehow have the most of the cast ready to go and are about start filming soon. Which would be impressive since there hasn't been even a peep about this since the director was announced a while back.
Seems like there would have already been some leaks from the usual suspects if there was a script Mattel was cool with or if there was any casting news.
MOTUC Black Plastic Pack ! :sklol:
Maybe Digital River will start manufacturing the figures?
Biggest MOTU news? Or biggest MOTUC news?
Biggest MOTU news would have to be a movie with a well regarded director attached, script completed and filming start date.
Biggest MOTUC news would have to be the cancellation of MOTUC. After all, Toyguru said "biggest" news, not "best" news. If it's positive MOTUC news, then some kind of Castle Grayskull diorama (not a playset) or a six (6) figure Filmation mini-subscription for 2013.
Biggest news from Toyguru's perspective? Perhaps he is leaving Mattel in order to devote himself full-time to his heroic career as a Time Agent?
Biggest news is A new movie is coming out, starring Mr Lundgren as future King He-man with lots of flashbacks.
I just love this forum! :-D My turn! They made even more than they expected so not a 100 but a 101 ppls will be getting the secret weapon accesorry! Wooohoo! :-D
My guess is a retail release either of MOTUC or of new MOTUC repaints or of a completely new MOTU line. I can't think of anything else that Matttel could consider the "biggest announcement ever". I don't think it's vehicles or Grayskull now that sub sales are down. I agree with what others have said: amovie announcement is something for an event like SDCC, not for a fan convention like Power-Con.
A new retail line could help raise awareness for MOTUC and thus save the line.
I could also mean the end of the line with dozens of useless variants and ugly vehicles sculpted by Mattel's in-house team...
Grayskull is a good guess, they haven't recently said anything against it. I am pretty sure Toyguru PERSONALLY would want to have it made. Maybe he got it linked with some sort of anniversary celebrations budget etc.
Second guess is a live-action-movie, but is it biggest ever announcement as we have had one already? Although technically we have had Grayskull before too, even if this one would need to be biggest ever due to figure size.
Also most importantly, how many hours do we have to go to that moment! Which time zone is it again :)
My money is on an official movie announcement :)
Anyway, it sounds like good fun for the future
If they announce Castle Grayskull (which I doubt they will) Icon Heroes will be very mad! I think they ca throw that tiny statue they made straight in the trash then...
Maybe movie news, but I hope something MOTUC related like new rights or sub-line.
