model builders (like me) use household oven cleaner to remove paint, though I have never tried it on a MOTU figure! Just spray it on, soak and brush off to remove the paint, usually.

That's definitely weird because on mine, the trapdoor hinge is very loose and just flops around easily.

Mine fits the opening exactly.

Is your Snake Mountain all original or was it put together with parts from 2 different ones? Perhaps a photograph would make it easier for us to see the problem,

Yep. so technically he has 2 separate accessories, sword and armour. The 'bowtie' is attached to the armour and cannot be counted as a separate item.
