Really looking forward to this!
If anyone is interested in seeing these move forward with more urgency, or at all, voicing your interest to Mattel on social media would be a good idea.
I want new characters done in the vintage 5.5" style.
Or at least new in the sense that they haven't been done in that style, yet.
Thanks for all of those years of hard work, Scott. It will always be interesting to hear your impression of where the line goes, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck in all of your...
Maybe some have already been made, I don't know. I wasn't aware of that.
I was under the impression that what they showed were just large prints and plot summaries of upcoming animated shorts.
Wow! That is going to be one thick book!
I think that it's important to always remember that the Classics cannon in unique in the sense that its primary goal is to pull as many of the past cannons together into one cohesive storyline. ...
It would have to be a toy property that Matty already owns the rights to.
2015, so far...
Mine arrived. He's gigantic! :hmlol:
How is Lizard Man one of the tallest MOTUC figures? So weird.
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but where do these sort of rumors originate from? Like, a Mattel employee, or something?
Or is it just common sense of what they would most likely do?
It would be cool to see those Battlesaurs dudes in the more 6"ish scale that they used to do Toy Story figures in (like Twitch!). I'm pretty bummed that they did these in 4".
Yeah. I always wished that the Classics were closer to the size of vintage, when you crouched them down. They're about 1.5" taller. Maybe about 1" or so taller in the crouched pose. :(
I don't recall there ever being a live stream. Just text with the occasional pics.
Toyark usually does a chat stream coverage of it. I was checking out the site this morning and tried to figure out where it would be, but didn't find it. I'm sure someone will post a link.
Got some cool stuff at C2E2... https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5330/14101683221_e098073565_b.jpg
I certainly don't claim to know the legal technicalities or the gory details of the behind the scenes issues here. However, I find it positively heartbreaking that Matty can't find a way to allow the...
I definitely see these as more like a one off giant Skeletor or He-Man that you put on a shelf next to a plant, or something, as more of a funky pop art sort of thing, than a line that you collect. ...
I'm happy for the POP fans! Congrats!
I'm personally on the fence with this one. I'm sure I'll end up caving, though... :shlol:
Although I'd much rather have resources directed at new 5.5" vintage-style figures.
But yeah, cool to see these shapes and proportions getting some attention and love again! :)
I like that they're looking at doing the vintage style like that. Pretty cool, as, like a couple of bigger art pieces for your house.
I'm personally not really interested in seeing MOTUC at that...
I think we'll be more likely to see 6" Joes in the Masher style.
Cool looking figure. Not a cool resolution to the UNO concept.
...just my humble opinion, though.
Scott- It seems that there is quite a bit of interest in reviving the vintage MOTU figure style, whether after Classics or in some other fashion. Obviously, you can't comment on any plans that Mattel...
Anybody seeing the 6" Classic Mumm-Ra anywhere? I never got around to grabbing him and wouldn't mind picking him up for super cheap.
For some reason, I totally missed that Axel was working on this.
I might just give the comic another shot! :sklol:
If I had, to bet, my money would be on Unnamed One having a look significantly derived from Snake Mountain.
Count me in as another Snake Mountain-Man theorist.
Someone posted early copies of Bebop and Rocksteady that they scored from China over on the Technodrome Forums. No ankle articulation. MAJOR sad face.
So weird that we haven't seen updated Rocksteady and Bebop. Those figures at NYTF were pretty prototypey. One would think that something close to the factory versions would exist by this point.
Bebop and Rocksteady are essentially "Wave 2", which is this Fall.
Movie Turtles are "Wave 3" which is Spring 2014.
As much as I dig the idea of those Movie Turtles, I really wish we...
