The bio says nothing about the "thunder punch". The old TV commercial said something like "you hear the thunder here... you feel the thunder there" - like the punch didn't have to make contact. But...

Head looks too much like Roboto with the color scheme.

My day-of and sub Demo-Man figures are different like this too. The day-of also doesn't have the dark green around the eyes like the sub one does.
