This version pretty much has new sculpture so in that sense i'm thankful cause that work has already been done. It would just leave me to paint him accordingly e.g. red, blue, silver.

I was looking at my photo of the 3 Robotos against the Grayskull door, and it got me thinking, "Battle Ground (200X) Roboto" anyone?!
Robotos bio already said that he upgraded himself, but maybe he upgrades himself again? OR, his body is destroyed in battle, but Man-At-Arms manages to save Robotos CPU, and rebuilds him as a 200X war machine!!
I might post that idea in the Classics forum and see what everyone things.. Maybe Mattel will read it and think that's a great idea.. (to milk more money out of us.LOL)

This is so true. While I have a lot of love for Roboto the character the figure does little to excite me. I would love a pimped out Roboto who is ready for butt kicking and would make War machine pee his pants. He needs big feet, a massive chest and more guns!

'Battle Ground' Roboto is a cool moniker for a possible update. I somehow don't think they could use the letters WMD for obvious reasons. You definitely should post that in the main forums Scott, along with the pic of this figure ...who's name escapes me... showing that it is possible.
But whether people would want to buy it is another thing altogether

Yeah i know, he's not exactly one the most exciting figures but he sure is colourful
I guess it didn't help his Classics figure having damn backwards facing shoulders. It's kinda funny cause he's a robot and all and in reality it was a factory error! But even i feel that his neck and head could have had a bit more originality sculpted into it a la Kobra Kahn for example. You won't find me opposing you in wanting to see a 200X Roboto. I'm hoping like mad that one day he gets a chance. Maybe in 2017?

I reckon it'd be easier just to do a custom Scott, the thread has been merged with other posts with fans wanting Battleground 'this' or Battleground 'that' - which is cool with me but makes me realise how very limited the possibilities for an updated Roboto would be

It has been a few days, I have been pretty busy and haven't really had time to post and read all the threads but I am still impressed with what was revealed at SDCC. I haven't felt like this since SDCC 2009 and the reveal of Trap-Jaw, Wun-Dar, Battle Cat and the rest.
I think Mattel have really outdone themselves. It has reignited my passion for this property tenfold. I have gone from being on the verge of slowing down my collection to being 100% behind the line again.
I fully understand there will still be figures that I will be meh! about but for the most part I think I am going to be satisfied with what is delivered, especially if they put the same effort in to the ones recently revealed
If anyone has any broken damaged incorrectly assembled MOTUC figures (male) that they don't want, shoot me a PM, I may be interested in buying it for customs

I just found out I had two people I know who went to SDCC. They are kind of Convention friends of mine who I talk to regularly but not in my regular circle of friends so I see them every now and again. They own a comic shop in Geelong and are really cool guys. I totally should have known that they were going to go. There goes my chance of getting a SDCC Marlena... I refuse to go on Evil-bay!

I cracked last month and got a SDCC Marlena from ebay for $40. I needed at least 1 to have MOC. It should be here soon

SDCC is hard this year... Marlena, Marvel Sentinel, Doctor Who Leela and Voltron... my wallet is tapping out....

I saw the video with the guy saying the black lion "is the size of a baby". I also saw they had the smaller figure for sale.
