Barnes & Noble screw up and correction

Early last week I placed an order for Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Paul on Blu-Ray in these special limited edition comic book style steelcases:

But later last week when I received my order, while the packing slip had the correct items listed, I received what I can only assume is someone else's order of Alfred Hitchcock DVDs:

I called to get it straighted out. Today, I received the correct items that I ordered!

I REALLY wish Disney would go back to hand painted back drops.
It just feels like everything after The Little Mermaid lost its magic.
The older Disney titles seem so much more rich.
    Ah well...
Though I do enjoy some of the Pixar titles ( Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Up, & Brave). The other titles...meh.
I agree Stratos and Fox is one of my fave Disney movies, i remembered seeing Fox and The Hound in it's 88 re-issue when i was a kid 4 times and dug it.

Well, I haven't watched it yet since I just got it yesterday and I started off with the MST3K movies first. Plus I'm in the middle of this damn Marvel War of Heroes and Transformers iPhone games. But I'll try to watch it when I get home from work and I'll let you know what I think.

This is CRAZY that it xame out in 1927 (i mean the whole black & white silent film gives it away) but u know what i mean.
Youll love it...or atleast i hope u do...i thought it was great!

I did get the 1987 version with the added soundtrack and some scenes have this crazy color tinting (trippy).

Yeah, sorry about not reviewing it for you before you decided to buy it but I am really glad you liked it. I just saw it yesterday evening and I thought it was very cool! I know what you mean about not believing it was made in the 20's. The special effects on the robot transformation and exploding Heart machinery were very good. I don't know if it was due to the restoration process on my disc version but they were actually superb and the soundtrack was extremely well done. I can see how the robot design in Metropolis influenced George Lucas on C-3PO for Star Wars. The intricacies of Metropolis robot were exquisite and the movie itself was pretty racy with it's sexuality and religious imagery for the 1920's. Personally I loved all the Babylon and Mother of all Abominations references. A great, great movie and deserves all the praise it gets.

I saw Metropolis for the first time only a year or two ago - I was blown away by the imagery, concepts, etc., for a movie that far back. It actually had me start watching a number of other German films from that era, and there's a lot of really striking work coming out of Expressionism et. al. It's easy to see how these movies had such an influence on later filmmakers.

I've REALLY splurged lately, but many of these some damn good deals!

Between a combinations of good sales & stackable coupon codes at WB Shop and good deals on ebay for a couple that were sold out on WB Shop, I got all of the Harry Potter Ultimate Edition Blu-Rays. Additionally I also got the Ultimate Edition Canadian release of the "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" to have in the collection in addition to the US "Sorcerer's Stone."

Addition WB Shop orders from these sales/couponsalso included:
    Night Court Season 8 DVD
    Night Court Season 9 DVD
    Silver Hawks Volume 2 DVD
    Pleasantville on Blu-Ray

Additional ebay purchases included the Disney Movie Club exclusive releases of:
    Tale Spin Volume 3 DVD
    Goof Troop Volume 1 DVD
    Goof Troop Volume 2 DVD

.... all at prices that were only $1 or $2 more than what they would have cost to get them as a club member, but without all of the hassle that goes with being a member.

I just received an Amazon order for:
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox Blu-Ray
    Spider-Man 2 "Mastered in 4K Edition" Blu-Ray
Men in Black "Mastered in 4K Edition" Blu-Ray

And thanks to a special deal at Target for buying both titles, earlier this week I got:
Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 4 Blu-Ray
Star Trek: The Next Generation - Redemption Blu-Ray
