Which version of the DVD did you buy? There are a couple worth shelling out the money for. There's one from Image, and one from Kino. The other ones are cheap ass Public Domain releases that look like crap. I have the Image release. Beautiful film.

    I have the Kino one.

It has very good image quality and accurately recreated translated panning intertitles. I heard the Image version was also excellent but the framing was a little off. But you can't really go wrong with either Kino's or Image's DVDs. I have several DVDs from both companies and they both do top notch work.

The only time I will pick up one of those bargain DVDs is when I can't get the movie any other way.

I bought John Carpenter's Dark Star and Riki-Oh. Dark Star is John Carpenter's first movie and its a hilarious sci-fi spoof. Riki-Oh is an ultra violent kung-fu movie. Probably the mosty gorey kung-fu movie ever.

    My most recent acquisitions are:

Gilmore Girls Seasons 1 and 2
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Volume 6
Batman: The Animated Series Volume 2
    Gargoyles: The Complete First Season

I'd still like to get the first season of Murphy Brown on DVD, plus there's a new Gilmore Girls season set on the horizon, as well as classic TMNT Season Two, another MST3K set, the fourth season of the West Wing, etc.

So I have way too much to buy than I can afford. I'll probably focus on Gilmore Girls, MST3K, and classic TMNT in the immediate future. Maybe the West Wing Season Four...it just depends on my funds.

Wow, did I actually find another Van Damme fan out there? I have every one of his DVD's. Wake of death is a really well done movie.

As for the last DVD's I bought, Death Wish, Charles Bronson's Vital Hits, Crocodile Dundee 1 and 2.
