The only thing I would change would be the serpent head making it really big to fit possibly a figure in it, But this is really cool Mattel better think about making one of these before you start going into production.

Maybe it's me, but I am blown away by the lighting. Not that anything else was done poorly or anything, but the great job on the lights really impresses me and looks great.
I think the best place for Mermans pool would be near the throne room, in the series, that's usually where it is.
Your Castle Grayskull should be quite impressive, especially if made as a companion piece to Snake Mountain, frankly, I think I'm looking forward to that much more that I am a revised Snake Mountain. Though, it does ask some scale questions, Grayskull seems to be an expansive place. The throne-room that the Sorceress sits on is a 2 story or so structure, the library is a two story structure, then the secret chamber where the statue of King Grayskull and the tapestries isn't small, and the crystal lattice where the Grayskulls powers (Council of Elders powers) are is a giant place, 30 or so stories tall. I'm guessing some of those locales will be compressed, if not left out.
AGAIN THANKS FOR ALL THE COMPLIMANTS
SORRY THE PICS DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE
MY SON ENJOYS THE PLAYSET VERY MUCH
CASTLE GREYSKULL WILL HAVE TO BE ALMOST AS BIG TO INCORPORATE

Very, very excellent job.
I haven't made a custom snake mountain yet, but I have been planning on it.
Now, as I am writing this, it is now about 2:10 am (central time) on Janurary 9th, and I did not even know anything about your custom until a few minutes ago, when I discovered the link you put up in the "Can the 4HM/NECA do a Snake Mountain statue in scale with 6 inch statue line?" thread. And I must say, great minds think alike...
One of the ideas I have had for a while now is to use parts from the mutant slime pit to make the snakemen void and skeletors thrown. (In fact, earlier this week I picked up 3 slime pits on clearance from KB Toys, in addition to one that I've already had for a few months now).
Some other ideas that I've had for the one I want to make...
When and if I ever get around to actually making it, I'm hoping to make it on hinges somehow, so when closed up, it will look like a round mountain, but then can be opened to "play" inside. I'm also trying to figure out if there is some way that I can make it so I can have 2 removable snake heads to make the 1 headed and 3 headed versions. If that doesn't work out, I pay even just trying to make 2 different ones entirely.
Other things I have thought about making...
I'd like to make the temple that Keldor goes to when he has Hordak save him and turn him into Skeletor. Not totally sure exactly how I will do that, but some ideas I've had would be to obtain some old, used, beat up Hordak figures from the 80's line and repaint and use their heads for the stone Hordak heads that were on the walls. I'm also thinking about somehow rigging it so my Hordak bust will safely fit in it, which would serve as the "image" of Hordak that appears to Keldor/Skeletor. I would the probably take my Keldor figure, put the head on him where his face is being burned off, and have him kind of kneel on the stairs before Hordak. (This will prove to be a most expensive display just based on the fact that on ebay I paid over $80 for Keldor and about $100 for the Hordak bust).
I also wouldn't mind making a custom castle grayskull. Either using the mattel toy as a basis, or just starting from scratch. Either way, I would want to put a throne for the Sorceress (and make a custom Sorceress figure), and trying to make the crystal chamber, with a place for the orb and that box that the power sword was stored in prior to Adam receiving it.
My god. That is quite possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen.
I have lots of MOTU figures from every line as well as all BCI/Eclipse dvd sets for sale in the marketplace.

Well it has been in my son's room for 4 months now and it has not
been destroyed so it has turned out to be very sturdy thank goodness
