Got mine....good issue, explains how/where Avion arose and gives a bit of backstory to Stratos and Hawk.

Great job with the art Leanne!

Haven’t had a chance to read it yet, and I like Leanne’s art, but I have to agree with roykop...the faces are freaking me out. oh and are the bug people a nod to the Ilkorts or Kex from the mini comics?

    Tycons, my good man, tycons!
Of course, we never said that in the comic.

I think with the faces, Leanne's simpler style doesnt really sell how they should look as if there was a lot of detail.
They have very large eyes, and no ear lobes. Most of the men of tufts of hair at the top that's suppose to resemble owls.

I just picked it up. I am a regular here and I collect the comics and I even knew about Leanne doing a Stratos Issue, but I had no idea issue 7 was a go. Is there anything on the main page? Is there any more in the works?

Ok, I'm off to my area to read, Ill post my thoughts later.

    Thanks for the comments, everyone.

I know my art isn't to everyone's liking. I wish I could draw like Emil and Enza, but alas...

To be honest, if I could have drawn the entire issue over again, I would've done it in a second

Hope you guys enjoy(ed) the story, at least. I'm still glad we were able to do it. It had always been a dream of mine to work on a comic like this.

I liked the idea of it, especially the uprising of youth against the um, whoever-they-were guys. That was cool. I guess my major conflict (and my god I've been going over this since I was a kid, and now with my husband... LOL!) is that- I always argue with myself- is Stratos more bird-like, or ape-like? This comic seemed to go with the "the wings are an organic part of their body" idea, and with the reveal of the faces (eek!) they are definitely meant (in this comic) to be more bird-like. I guess I would have gone with more of a flying monkey thing, but that's just me.

I always thought they were flying monkeys with artificial wings.
    But what do I know.

    I LOVED it!
Way to to Leanne! Great issue!
Congrats on your first printed comic!... I think...
At any rate, I think it's cool that the avions or birdmen have a different anatomy to their eyes and body fur/feathers.
    It totally makes sense.
It was a fun read. Yeah, it did feel like an "Heroic Icons" for Stratos. I see nothing wrong with that.
Except when I get to thinking we won't get any more "Heroic Icons"

I thought issue 7 was great. I rarely let the comics/Cartoons alter my perception of the MotU universe, which is heavily inspired by the original mini-comics, but along with Sy-Clone, Trap-Jaw and Tri-Klops, I will gladly add this origin story into my own personal canon. Fun easy read. It was certainly a surprise seeing those odd faces, but I think it was good to differentiate them from normal Eternains with body hair problems. I also thought it was cool that it showed that flying was an innate ability which was never made clear to me before. Now I see the "jetpack" as a mechanical aid to help improve a natural ability (Works for me). Congrats to all involved on a great addition to the Masters Universe.

That being so, wouldn't their rule be the Wicked Witch of the West? When will we get to see the 4H rendition of her?

great read. always like having "down" issues. make the book more 'real' instead of having action, action, action.. good job.

i really like the avians look. works really well

This was another homer you guys hit out the park. Awesome job! The eyes bugged me out at first, but I got used to them. I loved the origin, it gave me a much deeper interest in Stratos as a character. Great book.

Eyes are almost dead on.... but the eyebrows and hair are off. It could easily be ANY bird man, just not the way Stratos styles his own hair.

    Sort of close.
Bigger eyes, no ears, no big eyebrows or hair like that at the brow.

I missed the reference...who were the bad guys based off of? Anyone got a classic pic of them?

And Val's what's the estimated date on #8, or is that not in the can yet?

I don't mean any disrespect by this, but,
you gotta read the other posts in this thread.

If you do a search on the net, you should be able to find a pic.
    I don't have one handy.
    Someone else might, though.

And Val's what's the estimated date on #8, or is that not in the can yet?
...and that's what the FAQ is for.

I didn't mean I missed completely who the bad guys were based off of, I meant what the original design was. Sorry for the poor wording there. Sounded like people remembered the Tycons from classic MOTU, whereas I don't.

Googled the name, nothing MOTU came up, anyone got a picture?
Edit: found the episode description, coolio.

And as for issue eight, since that date is pretty close, any chance it's more solidified now?
