Power Tour Pics & Review at XE
I've been looking everywhere for a tape of this. I don't think one exists...
PLEASE tell me someone on these boards has the Power Tour on tape. I have vivid memories of this as a kid, but cannot find anything on it. I know I had a Program from when I was a kid, but that has long disappeared. Does anyone have the program? Or even better... a video of the actual show?
Many Thanks my friends!
I know there was someone of ebay a month or so ago selling a DVD full of MOTU/POP rarities including TV spots, commercials etc and I think there may have been at least something to do with this.
I'm spewing I didn't get one though because I can't seem to find any more copies on eBay.
Hey isn't this thread in the wrong forum?
Well that's Awesome... def fills that dark void... BUT I REALLY WANT A VIDEO. Who produced it? Kenneth Feld?
That site had this on it .
Scary. There's no existing video footage of the tour that I'm aware of, but that's probably a good thing. CNN is giving us enough creepy stuff to watch these days. We don't need to see Man-At-Arms hit a high C
Thats too bad, I would love a copy of the Power Tour.Originally Posted by Bigdaddy51200

I will be on the search for this , If I come up with anything , I will let you know .
I've heard rumors about some people have copies of this, I have not found any yet but I'm sure a copy exsists as I know there were cameras there for recording purposes. I would ask Mattel on this or a member of the Power Tour, if you can find one? Hope that helps?
hear is all I could find , not much but better than nothing
If anyone finds anything , please post and let us know !!!
Power tour book
Mattel employees button
Ughhhhh what I wouldn't give for that Book!??!?
I have a yellow plastic Powersword in my shed with "Power Tour" on it. I remember LOVING that thing to pieces. If we can find out -
A. Who produced it
B. A list of LA and NY venues it played at
C And any cast member names
I'll use what industry contacts I have to get some movement here. There has got to be a way. I will not take no for an answer.
I really want that button. I noticed at WWC someone had it on their bookbag... I was tempted to rip it off and run nahhh I'd never do that. But it was awesome to see up close. Thank goodness I recently found it on eBay. Phew!
Yeah, that pin is awesome! I just recently aquired 6 of them! It was worth it though! Now if I could only get one of those programs? I wonder if they had any power Tour Posters?
Could you hook a fellow fan up with one of those pin ???Originally Posted by walkerHe-man
Yeah, Walker, if you are selling those pins, count me in for one.
I never got to see the show as a kid (I don't think it ever came to Oregon), but kept hearing about this new character that was in show.
So, years ago, when I rediscovered He-man on the Net and started collecting MOTU items, I kept searching and searching for that book. I found an online seller who had one, but had JUST sold it a few days earlier. The guy kept it in his inventory for over a year afterward, though, so it was really annoying, when searching.
So then I find a personal journal/blog posting from this girl who found one in her closet and she posted on her site a few quick memories about attending the Tour and how cheesy it was. I wrote to her and asked if she wanted to sell the book. She wrote back that it was damaged with age and she just threw it out a few weeks ago!!
Man, I could've cried..
Eventually, a board member posted several shots on the Org, and XE ran that article, so I was finally able to see what I wanted. The lost character. The greatest character find of the decade: Songster!

I don't know if Kenneth Feld produced the show however, I do know it was directed by Gary Goddard who directed the Masters of the Universe Movie. Yikes, talk about a promotion.
If anyone find and footage of the show, let me know!!!
i'd love to see that. i'll chip in with who ever if it's alot of money to reproduce it, that would so cool to see it again.
I've been banned! twice now!!!!
Look out for a new forum where it's an adult community for the MOTU brand and other toylines. Coming soon!................

Unlikely, it would happen with Mattel's (insert explicative), handling of the property...dumb @sses, but wouldn't it be cool to see a New Power Tour based on the the MYP toon and 4 Horsemen Designs! That would rock!Originally Posted by brianatarms

according to: http://www.purrsiathunder.net/tourprog.php, He-Man has a few things ... or people in common. He-Man Power Tour Cast members Marcie Dinardo, Jeff Biggs, Michael Jefferson were also performers in THUNDERCATS LIVE .... just an intresting coincidence. So I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't share the same production company.
What I want to know is who wrote the music/lyrics (it was a musical, right). Does your program mention that? Also, considering it was a musical ... and it would have been lipsynched to (or full body characters would have just "gestured" to it), I've always believed there had to, at the very least, be an audio reocording in existence. There was definetly one back in the day. They would have used it to perform to every performance. And I bet that the cast members would have also had thier own copies to practice with. SO .. maybe even if we can't find a video tape, we could at least hear what it was like. Altho, I'm sure that the production company would have made a recording to archive thier work ... or at least had B-Roll Video Footage made to use for commercials or in a "reviewer's reel" so that the 6-o'clock news has something to show when they said "Green Bay has the power this weekend as we welcome guests Eternian's He-Man & She-Ra. Tickets to the Power tour are $13 with performances Sat @ 2 & 7pm. What a lot of fun that looks like. Back to you Janet".
As a singer/actor myself (who never saw this show) I love the idea that a He-Man musical existed. If nothing else, hearing the music/vocal tracks would be WONDERFUL.
Have a great weekend ya'll
