If every character is made within a reasonable timeframe, then yes.

Not sure how big of a market exists for 'em, but since I already own and enjoy several Marvel, DC, and LotR Minimates, personally I say BRING 'EM ON!

I'd actually MUCH prefer to see good mini Battle Scale Figures done instead. About the same scale as the botched Mattel ones, but conceptually like the LotR: Armies of Middle Earth figures. That way we could get all the characters, giants, vehicles, beasts, castles, environments and so on in scale and fairly affordable.

Can you imagine the battle scenes??!!

I hate these style of figures. The things I like most about my toys are good, accurate sculpts. So I always get cranky when some of my favorite licenses (Futurama, Pulp Fiction) get picked up and these are all that is made.

Of course, that wouldn't be the case with MOTU but I still won't go anywhere near them.

I can see why fans of mini-mates would want MOTU minis.

But, just as far as mini-mates go, I don't understand the appeal.
They seem gimmicky to me, like Beanie Babies were.
    What's the popularity rooted in?

It's kind of hard to explain, Val. But I'll try.

Without the benefit of true 3D sculpts (ie. facial features) and since the "canvas" you've got to work with it so confined, it's somewhat of a challenge to really get the essence of the character. So the features and defining characteristics of that character have to be either exagerrated somewhat, or just boiled down and stripped to the bare necessities.

That's kind of the most fun thing about them for me. Basically you have a blank, flat surface, and only a few detail lines available to imply a character's facial expression or attitude. How do you use them? Did you make the most out of those few lines?

Concerning more the mass appeal, of course there's the "cuteness" factor or whatever that, while turning off some collectors, is part of the inherent fun about the figures. They're not taking themselves too seriously AT ALL, and it shows, unlike high-falutin sublines by other toy companies that promise a lot, go nowhere, and do nothing for me.

Also, you don't have to worry about a particular sculptors bias messing up the likeness for you. Worried that the sculptor will try to make ______ look like the run based on _______'s art, who you think sucks with a pencil? Not an issue. Worried that the sculptor will make ________'s face totally constipated or ridiculous-looking? Again not an issue. If you want Brown Costume Wolverine then that's what you get.

Then, of course, you have the scale thing, which means that if you're a Marvel Comics fan, you can get TONS of the suckers and you can fit quite a few in a relatively small space.

Regarding MotU done as Minimates, it would be very challenging to pull off, but would be cool if they could do it. I just think that with the limited MotU fanbase right now there wouldn't be enough support. A one-time box set with 8 or so figures would be rad as hell though, and maybe if there was enough interest they could do more. That'd be an idea.

I just want small MotUs in Imaginext or Armies of Middelearth style. Everything else can't add enough coolness to the brand for me.

Let's see, what else can the 4H get away with in their contract? Christmas Tree ornaments, cake toppers, fridge magnets, candles, erasers, pencil sharpeners, pencil toppers, night lights, air fresheners, etc..

So they are basically glorified lego?
I'd rather have so wargame style figures to play heroscape with.

I don't like the minimate so I won't buy some but I'm neutral here because if I would have been a fan of the minimate I would probably be happy to have MOTU minimate.

I dont like Minimates. Oh, they're cool enough, but nah. Funky little figures I dont need. Add to that if they had MOTU Minimates I may feel like I had to have them. And I dont want my collector nature sickness exploited to buy things I dont want. :P Kinda like the MOTU Hotwheels cars. Dangit.

So Yeah, I'm saying I would not want them to make them so I wouldnt buy them. Kinda like the much cooler tiny guys they revealed at Comicon. Except those I want. Still hope they dont make them, to save me from my purchases.

My 2012 sub is going to cost enough already.
