Tonight at the meeting it was decided that we're going to do Secret Santa again this year, and I believe the limit was set at $25. I offered to coordinate drawing the names since I'm not going to participate.

So if you'd like to participate, please PM me by December 1. I'll draw names and contact everyone with who they've got.

I just found out that Tara is off today and she can order the figs for you. This will help me out since I'm going to get He-Man and the bigger order will lower shipping. Is everyone else covered?

I got charged tax on my subscription order as well. I wonder what that's about. I wonder if a tax charge will show up on my regular order today.

I just PMed you - I'm in for Secret Santa. Sorry I missed everyone on Friday - the updates did not, in fact, go as planned, so I didn't end up leaving work until around 9:30. Wish I could've been there!

Do we have a date set for the December meeting? If not, I'd like to suggest we do it on December 11 or maybe the 18th. I have another holiday party scheduled on the 4th that I'd like to be able to go to.

Well, I got my He-Man order in. I got charged tax on that, too, just like with the subscription order. I'm not too thrilled about that. If there is a legal reason why Mattel has to charge it, that's one thing, but I'd like to know the basis as to why they would even need to charge us tax.

This tax thing is messed up. I got charged tax for both my subscription order, and for the He-Mans I ordered for Luis. I believe that since Mattel has no physical retail storefront in Illinois, they should not be charging us tax.

I agree. My understanding is that the company has to have a physical presence in the state, such as a store or office out of which the business is ran, etc. As far as I know, none of that is present in IL for Mattel, so I don't see why we should be paying any tax.
