Chicagoland Sightings Part 2 - The Revenge!!!

Well, I don't know if I'll be closing my account yet. And the only reason that I say that is before I started coming to Jimmy's store, I was already doing my comic shopping at GCC, it was just the Naperville location (though the service at Jimmy's store was much better overall). I may switch back, or I may check out the sites Mattingly posted. I don't know the full extent of everything that has gone down. I did hear about the whole Christmas thing (which was friggin ridiculous) and I know Jimmy was getting frustrated recently about some other things. So, if they are that bad, I don't want to continue supporting GCC at any location, but given the general lack (as far as I know) of other comic shops near my area, my options are limited.

I know last time I made an offer it was turned down, but here it goes again. Sunday March 28th, I will be ordering WrestleMania XVI on PPV and have an invitation to those who want to traverse down to Plainfield to scope it out. I know a lot of you don't follow wrestling anymore but this is the biggest show of the year. I don't follow football but I still watch the SuperBowl, well at least to me its the only game that matters. At WrestleMania you have:
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho defending the title against the 2010 Royal Rumble winner "The Rated-R Superstar" Edge. A match several months in the making that stems from when Edge ruptured his achilles tendon and left his tag team partner Jericho high & dry.
WWE Champion "The Animal" Batista defending the title against John Cena. The last time these two met neither man left unscathed, Cena ended up with a broken neck and Batista ended up tearing his hamstring off the bone.
13 Years in the Making! Not since WrestleMania 13 has Bret Hart been invovled in the big event. This year sees Hart take on Vince McMahon in most likely a street fight.
Other matches likely include a hair vs. mask match between The Messiah of Straight Edge Society CM Punk taking on Rey Mysterio. The Game Triple H taking on the Celtic Warrior and former WWE Champion Sheamus. Other WWE Superstars, Divas and Hall of Famers are bound to make appearences.
The Annual Money in the Bank Ladder Match featuring the likes of "Captain Charisma" Christian, "The Big Red Machine" Kane, "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, "All American, American" Jack Swagger, Matt Hardy and MVP will fight for the coveted Money in the Bank Briefcase
And certainly not least, the rematch of the year as The Streak is put on the line against The Career. Undertaker's WrestleMania streak of 17-0 will be on the line as he takes on once again "Mr. WrestleMania" Shawn Michaels as his puts his career on the line. Many consider their match last year the epic that rivals and surpasses Steamboat-Savage from WrestleMania III.

i'll take a pass on the wrestling event unless everybody plans on going? i'm really not a fan of wrestling anymore, i'm more into MMA b/c its more in tune w/ my martial arts background, so i can appreciate the fights better.

I'm not sure how close any of the stores are but I'd check out Amazing Fantasy, I know they have four locations in Lockport and Frankfort but can't think of where the other two are.

Outside of Frankfort & Lockport, their other locations are Tinley Park & Calumet City. I'll be hitting the Lockport store w/Fred once the final 4 Blackest Night issues are done come the 1st week of April. I've met the manager/owner Joe several times, and he seems like a decent enough guy, though I know I won't get the 5* service Jimmy provided.....

Whatever people decide for the next meeting is fine with me. I can only make the 12th or 26th anyway, as I have Alex this weekend and the 19th.

I haven't found anymore yet. I stopped by TRU yesterday after work (the same location that I found my sets at last week), but there was none to be found. Though, last week when I bought mine, the lady at the register said that she believes their trucks come in every Wednesday. And if that is true, it is possible that they may have received some and just hadn't put them out yet.

I'm going to check again after work today just in case.
