Yeah, you guys should meet at TRU in your tuxes and top hats, and maybe hang out by a display of Monopoly games! But to make it extra awesome, you should all wear monacles!

Pass on Pre meeting. Saturday is my tough day of the week so I'm going to be napping until we leave.

You can get away with black jeans and a nice shirt. I did that for New Year's Eve when we went there.

I might not be up for any meetings for a while after this. This place is a bit on the pricey side. So I might not see anyone until c2e2 if I go to that.

There are some disappointing aspects to the Castle, but overall, I'm still pleased with what's been shown so far.

Yes, it could/should be bigger, the interior walls should have some kind of texture to them, that Wind Raider stand is completely useless, The orb cabinet is kinda dumb, but I still like what's there, for the most part.

After seeing Pixel Dan's video, the interior is not complete yet, and with the amount of people saying they're going to cancel their pre-orders, I'm sure there's time to address most major concerns before final production starts. The only thing I doubt they can/will do anything about is the size. We've just been sucked into another case of overhype from Toyguru. Promise the moon, but deliver something close and imperfect.

That being said, IT'S CASTLE FRIGGIN' GRAYSKULL!

I'm still stoked to have one in this line, even if it is a little on the small side....

I would like if it were a little bigger, though I honestly don't think the size was nearly as mis-represented as some people think it was. One of the big problems with ToyGuru's video from a while ago showing off that foam model of the castle was that the He-Man figure that he had next to it was standing in front of the castle. They gave this MOTUC version that look of having a foundation under the castle when viewed from outside. The door is completely above the foundation, even when it is opened, and the door is pretty thick. So when standing He-Man on the opened door on the prototype, his head comes a lot closer to top of the door opening than when he's standing completely in front of the foam model in that video.

There still might be some size discrepancy between that foam model and the prototype (I wish we had a side by side image to compare), but I don't think it's nearly as drastic as some people are making it out to be.

At any rate, there's no way in hell that I'm going to cancel mine! This will be an excellent display piece! Even at this size, it is pretty nice. I'm loving the look of the exterior overall. The interior is also nice, but I do agree that more could be done with it (and hopefully will be before it's completely finished). As long as things stay on track and the end product doesn't have any major defects or QC issues, I will be happy.

I'm hoping to eventually get/make some kind of spinning "lazy susan" to display the Castle on so both the interior and exterior will be easily accessible.

Yeah, after seeing PD's video and hearing a few things its not that bad. The Wind Raider in the center makes no sense. There are rumors that if something gets cut they might to expansion packs later.

So, what's this thread all about? I'm curious. I did a search for Part 1, but was unable to find it, and the first post in this thread has 0 actual information. I live in Chicago, and I'm interested in MOTUC. Is this some sort of meetup thread or what? Sorry if I'm asking any stupid questions.

Those tiered stands are pretty nice, so depending on the p[rice point I might get them. but the tiered spice racks i'm using now are pretty good for now.

Sorry, I think part 1 was deleted a few years ago when the site was trying to cut down on space or something. We used to be a He-Man fanclub known as the Chicago Horde. We'd have regular meetings, events and projects. But we kind of disbanded the club a while back. We kind of use this thread to chat about whatever's on our minds, and yeah, sometimes there are public get-togethers that are mentioned here. Feel free to join in the conversation.

Don't know if everyone saw the news, but big news for March...

Fangman will ONLY be available as part of the sub. He will not even be offered for general sale on March 15th.

Strobo, the traveling convention exclusive (not included in the sub), will be available to order for subscribers via early access on March 14th. And he will NOT be available for general sale on March 15th. Instead he will be made available at the end of the year, after the various conventions, IF there is stock left.
Looks like I'll be requesting the 14th off tomorrow!

Actually back when Battle Cat came out in early 2010 (which was the first full year for a subscription), subscribers got an $8 off coupon code to enter on Matty Collector when ordering him. The stupid part about it was that entering the coupon threw you back into the WSOD back when it was prevelant, and he sold out quickly, so some people missed out at the time because of it who might have otherwise had successful orders without it.

Those DCU coupons never did me any good. I would find what I was looking for before the coupons would show or after they expired. I guess I could've always gotten several Cyborgs or Captain Colds

So did anyone score extra Ram Mans or Jitsus?
