The week from hell rolls on......

Hope everybody's doing well. Awesome shots of the staction packaging! Jimmy, I know you don't want to hear anything about them, but I'll definitely take 2 sets of these guys whenever they do come in...

So did anybody see Batman yet? I'm not gonna be able to go until next weekend. Every review I've read says it's awesome, so hopefully the hype is believeable......

And who all (besides Dennis ) is going to Toy Show next Saturday? I'll be there since I have nothing else to do with Kim & Alex out of town, and being off that weekend.......

EDIT: On more Episode 3 figures news, people in California & Colorado have found #s 48-50 at local Wally Worlds, so those are now out too. I STILL need 45-47!!!!!

I saw Batman last night. It was, in fact, awesome.

Great visuals, good story, and the actors don't make me cringe every time they open their mouths. Also, since a lot of it was filmed in Chicago, you'll be sitting there watching Gotham city and suddenly saying "hey, wait a minute...", like when they have a chase scene on Lower Wacker.

To delight of many of you.............I wont be at Toy Show on Saturday. I gotta work at Best Buy, because apparently so many people in my department got the day off.

    From All the Rage:
    Last Shuttle From Eternia

The story of Val Staples and MVCreations has been well chronicled, from their troubles with CrossGen to the fund raising efforts to rescue the company from heavy debt last November. But it’s been a while since we’ve heard about their current situation. Staples checked in recently to bring us up to date:
We ended up raising a little over 35,000.00, which was incredible. I'm very thankful for everyone's help, and I hope those who bought items through our store or our auctions are enjoying their purchase.

Only a few thousand came from direct donations, which I greatly appreciate. The rest came from selling stock on our store (until we ran out and I closed the store) and auctions we've been running since that announcement was made, and are still doing until I am completely depleted of my personal items of value.

I sold off all my MVCreations prototype stuff, comps, rares, etc... anything of value to a fan/collector. It kinda stinks I don't have anything to remind me any more of what we produced at MV aside from a few copies of each comic that I kept. But that's just how it is.

Graham Crackers Comics (http://www.grahamcrackers.com/motu.htm ) has also been helping us by selling books that came from our archival stock.

My last big batch of items I got out of storage at my family's home will be on eBay
soon under my he-manorg eBay user ID.

Thus far, I've taken care of a number of artists… But I still have about $45,000.00 in artist debt to tackle, about half of which is due to my friends Emiliano Santalucia and Enza Fontana.

I still live with my family, which I have done since January. And I'm almost out of personal belongings. So, I've cut costs as much as I can. After this last auction, I will need to rely on my freelance work to pay off the remaining debt.

Anyone can talk to me in person about all of this if they’d like to know more about what all has happened and is currently going on. I'll be attending San Diego thanks BCI flying me out (a DVD company I'm working with for the He-Man DVD coming out in July) where I'll be at the Tower Records / BCI Eclipse booth. And I may drive up to Wizard Chicago with some friends... just depends on if I can make sure the trips cost me very little.
I love it when a plan comes together.

that is great and sad news @ the same time! good to see val's spirits are up, but that he still has alot hanging over his head.

i hope all goes well w/ the bci & staticons work they are doing. and hope to see him for sure this summer @ WWC.

    thanx for the update jimmy!

any word on the staticons yet???

and it looks like my hook up for the king randor exclusive @ sdcc is farked! he won't be able to make it this summer b/c of summer classes. so i need to do some networking and get some more peeps lined up.

I've got a friend who's going to SDCC who said he'd try to find a King Randor for me if he could - but he's an artist and will be going there to promote his own comic and other works, so I won't be surprised if he doesn't have time to do it.

But I plan to go to WWC, so hopefully we can all get them there.

I'm going to be out for a few days - going to a conference in Pittsburgh for work. I probably won't be able to make it to the toy show on Saturday. I'll see you guys sometime after I return!

I'm out for the Toy Show. I have to work.

But I'm in for WW. But I won't be able to make it during the day except for Sunday. I'm still getting the 3 day (4?) pass.

BTW - Anyone have any good recommendations on boards like this that is comic related?
    Thanks
    Marc

Hope all you fathers out there had a better Father's Day than I did.... But I'll fill you all in on my day later. Not much news on the Toy front, and I still haven't been able to see Batman yet. But at least we're only 3 weeks away from MOTU on DVD!!!!!!

Jimmy, are these the C3 toys you're getting this week? If so, I NEED a whole set! Even if they aren't, I STILL need a whole set of what new stuff you do get! LMK, and are toys discounted this weekend? I may stop by after Toy Show, seeing as how I'll probably be the only one there to keep Darrell company at the DVD booth...

BK at 11 works for me, though I think it's just gonna be us. Not sure if Birk's going, but so far everybody else is out. I'll probably head over to GCC afterwards to check out Jimmy's sale items....

EDIT: Found a shot of The Simpsons Season 6 box art - check it out!

Brad-I should have the C3's in Thursday or Friday, and toys are 30% off this weekend!!!! Anyone from the Horde that stops by this weekend and makes any purchase gets a VERY special treat!-trust me on this one, I can't say what it is, but you are DEFINATELY gonna want this one-of-a-kind item(actually there's more than one, but GCC is the only place that you can get it!)
    -Compu-CHECK IT OUT!!

Good deal on the C3 stuff Jimmy. Are you open normal hours Saturday, or are you open later than 5:00? I'll head by after Toy Show, since I doubt there'll be a whole lot to look at, and provided Darrell isn't screaming & crying for help! That banner for the new FF cartoon is pretty sweet looking! Anyone know where/when it's supposed to start airing? If it's on MTV like the Spidey series was, it won't last 10 episodes.

Oh, and I almost forgot - Marvel Legends collectors, start hitting Targets if you want/need extras. While we only have Series 9 currently, they just went on Temporary Price Cut today for $2.99 EACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They'll remain on sale until 7/18, so if you want a second Galactus or some custom fodder, go now! With any luck, we'll get some Series 10 in before they go back to full price. Worst case scenario is that we won't be carrying them after 7/18, and the price cut is to clear out stock. (I REALLY hope that isn't the case, since as soon as we got rid of the Wave 4 figs we've had FOR OVER A YEAR, they have been consistent sellers. I know we've gone through at least 6 cases of 9 at my store alone, although they are starting to warm pegs now.....)

Skullface-We'll be there from 10:00am till 5:00pm on Saturday-you could hit us BEFORE toy show!...and Darrell will probably by crying for help. "there's Smurf toilet paper at the table across the aisle, but I can't leave!"
I really don't think the FF cartoon will be on MTV,that ship has sailed-thank God!
-The Fantastic Four toys are supposed to be hitting Burger King this week. If anyone sees them, you don't have to buy any, just please let me know. I don't really go to Burger King anymore.
