Hey guys, Yeah it sucks that the bears lost, but at least none of you were stuck in the hospital having to watch it! Oh yes, I was! I got sick again Wednesday and was admited Via emergency room to Hinsdale Hospital Friday night. I got out Yesterday. For those of you who may not know, I have Liver and Pancreas(sp) problems. Have since I was a kid. Anyway, this latest battle has brought to everyones attention two more problems with me. One of which will require more surgery. When this will happen is still unclear until I see a GI(Gastro-intestinal) specialist. I go see my Doc on Monday, then she tells me when I go see the GI Doc for an ERCP - Sidebar - An ERCP is a procedure where you lay on an X-ray table on your side, then they knock your @$$ out and shove a camera down your throat. When they get to where they need to be they take some pics and inject some Contrast Dye into you and take some X-Rays. You wake up groggy and have a sore throat! After that's done you hope they know what's wrong! OK then, after I have an ERCP again, the GI Doc will let my know what's goin' on and most likely tell me when I'll need Surgery. BOOO!!! Right now my Doctors believe because of the years I've had this problem and the number of events in my lifetime that I have a ton of scar tissue built up in my Pancreatic Duct. This of course constricts the flow of an enzyme that the Pancreas produces backing it up and makes life very painful for me. There are two options here and both require surgery. The first is a complete replacement of the Duct in question

the second is a permanent stint being put in to open the Duct more

In the meantime to help out my Pancreas not produce so much of the Enzyme, before I eat anything I get to take horse pills which help my body digest food quicker so the Pancreas doesn't feel the need to work as hard as it has been!

wow mudd! sorry to hear your sick amd probably gonna undego surgery! but if you do i'll be one of the people up there to make sure you get the hotteste nurse to take care of ya!
