    Star Wars!

    Hey guys...

I had an interesting random find today.

Now, as some of you may know, I collect DVDs a lot. And in general, I don't rent, I just buy.
And I pretty much never go (or at least RARELY go) to Blockbuster video.

However, a couple of months back, I was given a $10 gift card for Blockbuster at work as a thank you for some special project I worked on, and I've had it ever since.

So, today I went there, planning to buy something (new or used) from the stuff they sell, because as I said, I don't rent (and if I did, I would avoid that place at all costs).

So, I'm browsing the store for the new and used DVDs and Video Games, and for the most part not finding anything that really jumps out at me. And, I'm just about ready to give up.

But I take one final swoop by the new (meaning not used.. and not necessarily new release) DVDs. I look down, and much to my surpise, a whole 10 days early, they had the ORIGINAL STAR WARS LIMITED EDITION DVD RELEASES!!!

They were like $22 a piece, so I debated on it for a while, knowing that if I were to wait until they come out officially, there would probably be between like $15 and $18 each at places like Best Buy. But since I had the $10 gift card, which helped knocked the cost down some, and since they were there, and I just didn't want to have to come back to Blockbuster again later on, I picked them up.

I popped in A couple of the discs. The quality of the original versions isn't bad. It's not super fantastic or anything, but its better than what I expected it to be based on what I had been hearing. They are not Anamorphic, unfortunately, but that was stated before.

The most interesting thing to me was that the original Star Wars does NOT have the "Episode IV: A New Hope" on it. Now, as far as I know, any and all previous home video releases in any format have included those words, even if the rest of the movie was identical to the original theatrical release. So, I found that particularly interesting.

Also, there is a demo for Xbox of Lego Star Wars 2 on the second disc of each set.

If anyone is interested and is near the area, I found this in the blockbuster In Naperville on North Aurora Road, between the intersections of Route 59 and Raymond (there is a Dominicks store by it as well). Now, I got all 3 movies, but I only saw 1 other bopy of episode 4 and one other of episode 6. I don't think they had any more copies of Empire.

I couldn't believe it! It took me by surprise!

I forgot to mention that I found the new Speed Racer mini-mates last night at TRU by my store. I picked up both Speed and Racer X, but if anyone sees the playset(a regular size Mach 5 that comes with Speed and a DVD)PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pick it up for me or let me know. I think it's only in the $20-25 range. Also, any of the new figures that come with the DVDs. THANKS!!!
GAbe-Are you sure todays your birthday?

Sorry For The Confusion. Thats What I Meant For Sunday The 17th. I'm Thinking Of Getting The Payper View For Unforgiven Since It Will Be Trish Stratus' Farewell Match Against Lita, And The Other Good Events, So I Won't Be Out Long.

I don't mean any dis-respect, but I don't think that we should postpone the meeting because of the death of the crocodile hunter.

Don't know if anybody's looking for them, but the TRU on 75th Street had all the new WWE Classic Superstars this morning. WCW Hulk Hogan, Moolah, IRS, Barry Windham, Rick Stiener, 1-2-3 Kid, and Kevin Nash.....

EDIT: Oh, and I know I'm totally late, but Happy Birthday Gabe! (Sorry, had a lot of junk to do the last 4 days or so.....)

Gabe - I've got the Wave 1 Batman for you and the variant ML Logan for Anthony.

Jimmy - I'll swing by TRU again after work and see if I can grab the wrestlers for ya! Were you gonna do the Freebirds 3-pack from Wal-Mart? I've seen TONS of them, so they won't be hard to come by, though I have yet to even see a Megamaniacs 3-pack.....

And I'm still missing a Leakless from the Cars line. Kim has now decided that she'd like to get a full set of Cars for Alex to keep at her house, since I refuse to let her keep the set I've been going nuts trying to complete. If anybody can help, I'd appreciate it, here's the full list of what's already been released that I need to pick up to complete both of Alex's sets:

    1 King
    1 Sally
    1 Sheriff
    1 DJ
    1 Fillmore
    1 Sarge
    1 Lizzie
    1 Chick Hicks
    1 Doc Hudson
    1 Wingo
    1 Dinoco McQueen
    1 Nitroade
    2 Leakless
    1 Flo & Ramone 2-pack

    Any help is appreciated!
