    MotU movie about King Grayskull

I'm just curious to see what people think about this.

The new live-action movie about the origins of King Grayskull, his power, and ancient Eternia with King Hsss as the main villian. Of course, King Grayskull dies in the end. It would be the first part in a series of MotU movies. Future installments would then feature He-Man and Skeletor.

I think it might work... But only if it ads to MotU.

    I LOVE IT!

But reality tells me it'll never happen.

Still, I love the idea of a King Grayskull based movie!

What if you treated it as a trilogy?

    1. King Grayskull vs. Horde
    2. He-Ro vs. the Snakemen
    And the payoff...
    3. He-man vs. Skeletor

Who is big, muscled and lean enough to play this?

I'm not interested in a King Grayskull movie in the slightest.
You might as well have another movie about another obscure MOTU character.

Audiences (the non-fan kind) might accept someone named King Grayskull as a serious character before they'd accept someone named He-Man...

    Northy raises a good point.
I mean King Grayskull could be like a conan type movie with great adventure. And it wouldnt have that corny snake transformation like in the Conan movie. It could really work. Meanwhile He-Man as much as we hate to admit has a stereo type to it. A lot of people think he is "gay." I'm not saying he is..I'm just saying those outside the MOTU community believe he is. Am I making any sense? I'm tired........

    I 100% agree.

You have to remember -- the general public knows who He-Man and She-Ra are (or have heard the name) -- they do not know who the hell King Grayskull is -- which makes me very happy.

I never liked the whole concept of King Grayskull, and would certainally not want a movie centered around him. The first part of any series of He-Man movies would have to include He-Man and Skeletor -- not an unknown and a slightly (if that) known vile like King Hiss.

But what if they dont hype it up as a MOTU movie? What if they try to get the general public interested in it..and have hints of MOTU elements? Lets face it I think the world would be mroe willingly to accept a K. Grayskull movie than a He-Man one.

Wouldn't it be better to start with the He-Man film and work backwards to the King Grayskull movie? (similar to Star wars)

I don't think people would accept a King Grayskull movie more than a He-Man movie. Remember -- he and He-Man look basically the same. It is still some Conan-type warrior running around in furry underwear.

Besides, I would not want the movie tainting MOTU elements. Go ahead and make a movie with a chracter named King Grayskull that has nothing to do with MOTU and I will have no problem

Ignore the source of the Power of Grayskull

I think a King Grayskull movie would work if they went the OG mini-comics/current Dark Horse Conan route and had Grayskull emerge from his tribe to take on the evils of the world, with the help of the Green Goddess and the sorceress Veena.

I'd rather see a He-Man based movie first, and then, if at all, a King Grayskull movie. From what I get from the cartoon King Grayskull is just a bigger version of He-Man with no alter-ego side to him at all. He's seems less interesting then what people often think of He-Man.

Though I did not like that episode of the cartoon. It was one of the best done episodes. I was just disappointed with that being the origin story... kind of like when the TNMT's found out they came from spilt ooze... haha...

Yes, because if you go by classic continuity -- which will most likely win out in the end overall -- King Grayskull is not the source. It was mentioned before that if a new movie was made, it would be going back to 'classic'.

Besides, a whole movie on King Grayskull will even further push He-Man away, since King Grayskull is basically He-Man but bulkier. And, we would not get a cool transformation sequence either. Boo hiss.

And I'd forgive no transformation sequence if we got some really wildly designed creatures/terrians.

True, but my hate for King Grayskull needs to be released, so I have to post post post. And, it is always fun to smack him around with the fact that he was not in the classic continuity

At least He-Ro looked different than He-Man.

King Grayskull is just a stale character, IMO.

only as an aminated movie stright to dvd, it wouldnt work as live action.
And so I walk, into the searing light which banishes all darkness, surrendering my face and form to atoms of dust, seeking the true darkness of peace, the cool shadows of eternity and the unknown fate of nothingness

This is both a blessing and a curse. Try reading about the Masters movie rumors at the forums of larger movie news websites and see what a lot of people are saying about He-Man... he is not always remembered as fondy as we might hope.

And we could have Keldor as a reocuring element in each movie. How cool would that be?
