The classic is best by far!
I was wondering, out of the three He-Man shows, which one do people think has the best introduction sequence - the Filmation show, the New Adventures or the MYP cartoon? I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I've never seen it mentioned.
Personally, I prefer the classic show's intro: the music, the dialogue and animation are all awesome, and it basically introduces the fundamental premise of the show to the viewer. It's something I never get tired of watching.
I have to say, though, I think NA's intro is excellent, also. The music is fantastic and the animation is very impressive.
The new cartoon's intro, however, is problematic. It's not as memorable as the original, it doesn't grip you in the same way, and for some inexplicable reason, it cuts off right in the middle of He-Man explaining the premise. I only understood it because I had the memory of the original - I'm sure that if I was a kid watching this for the first time without ever having heard of MOTU, my reaction would be . Where the original induced clarity, this creates confusion.
What do you think?
BTW, I'm waiting to see if it's okay to post this poll in the forums for NA and the new show too - if it is, I'm looking forward to seeing the different opinions of fans.

Classic for! However the snakemen intro was pretty cool!
Nothing can even come close to the original......EVER!
The mighty Filmation intro. The other 2 just don't come close to its greatness.
I have the power!
More power Multibot!
Filmation intro is the best and most memorable. But the NA intro is very impressive as well.
"Evil can never defeat good!"
"Don't be ridiculous, of course it can!"
He-Man and Skeletor in 'Crack in the World'.
The classic Filmation intro, for a couple of reasons - firstly, Adam's introduction immediately gives the viewers a "jumping-on" point, by explaining in basic terms the show's premise. Secondly, it just generates a lot of excitement with the use of the heroic music and dramatic sound and echo-effects!
I really like the NA intro too, mainly because of the excellent music and animation. The MYP MOTU series, however, I don't really like much - the Snake Men titles I thought were very good, but I really don't like where Adam's speech gets cut-off during the regular opening sequence. Not because MYP taking the mick out of the old show bothers me, but because I think kids would look at that and think "What the heck was that all about?" Plus, of the four MOTU-related cartoons, IMO it's the one that does the worst job of conveying what the series is about.

MOTU Classics is an amazing toyline, and collecting it should be fun. Let's try and make a difference.
The classic one is only one I can remember. Only seen one episode of NA or so, and for some reason the new one I have no idea about. Maybe it was just forgettable, or I have always missed it. Dunno.
Gotta go w/ the classic intro. You can't mess w/ greatness.
Between the world we see and the things we fear. There are doors; when they are opened; nightmares become reality.
By far the classic intro is the best ever. It hooks you into the cartoon right off the bat. The other two series lacked this element which was problely part of there down fall (kids have short attention spands). An in any case the classic motu intro is the best of any cartoon intro's that I've ever watch in my opinion. It just never get's old.
No doubt, Filmation style, i love the music and all the draws, is a great intro for the 80ts
Filmation's Intro sure
Filmation all the way!!!!!
Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
"If I were a vegetable I'd be a radish because I'm only kind of rad."
Filmation. It's very straight-forward, yet stylish. There's no guessing who the good guys are or who are the bad guys are. It's basically:
this is how I got my powers,
this is my sidekick,
these are my friends,
these are my enemies,
this what I have to protect,
ON WITH THE SHOW!"
NA does this as well, but lacks to the sleek and fun of Filmation. MYP is just a mess, esspecially when they added the "He-Man! He-Man! And the Masters of the Universe!" dialogue (shudder)
Tales of Masters of the Universe
The story of Masters of the Universe - spanning from Skeletor's origin to the final fate of He-Man!
Masters of the Universe: New Legacy

CLASSIC (ALL THE WAY) I love watching Adam at the start of the intro appear from the dark in the red background talking as he is coming and showing the transformation in the intro its just GOLD!!!!

I, like just about everyone else, adore the classic Filmation intro. However, MYP's complete intro that appears on the World of He-Man video was fantastic. The version that is cut off for CN is pretty good though. I'm not a NA fan, so can't really think of anything about that intro I particularly like.
I'm not an NA fan either but I did like the opening sequence. It had some nice scratchy animation. Spacey and blue spandex but still very He-man I must say. It really made you wish the cartoon was actually like that! Sadly, no!
voted for Filmation
i kinda like the NA one, the animation had a nice flow to it and worked well in time to the music
but the filmation one was the orginal and will always be the best
And so I walk, into the searing light which banishes all darkness, surrendering my face and form to atoms of dust, seeking the true darkness of peace, the cool shadows of eternity and the unknown fate of nothingness

Filmation has to take it, because it does exactly what the intro should do: tell you what you need to know up front about the series. A lot of wise guys make fun of Adam's monologue, but it served up the main characters, the basic premise of He-Man and Adam, and the basic conflict of the story. The transformation was also the most eyecatching of all three shows, as was the musical score that played in the background.
NA probably comes in second, because the intro does the same thing, sets up the whole show for you. It just lacks a bit of the flair and excitement of the Filmation version, especially with the rather plodding musical accompaniment. I have always liked the catch phrase, though: The power of the good and the way of the magic. Very lyrical and memorable.
The MYP version starts with the old monologue, but then goes off into battle right away. You get the gist of it, but it does a much poorer job of introducing you to the series. It's representative of today's shows, with more flash than substance.

"I will use this power for all the good that can be done, to work for peace, to encourage virtue, and above all, to preserve life in all its forms..." Superman
Filmation, no question. Scott's right...the introduction tells you everything you need to know to understand He-Man (and She-Ra!), with stunning visuals and outstanding music!
I voted for the filmation as well.
I don't remember the NA one, ado I really like the MYP one too. The animation is slick and action pack.
Yet, the original was so epic, effective and grand. In a mere (what 30 seconds?) it settled, as it have been said, what, who, when and why. The music was thunderous, He-man was manly as hell and Skeletor and his minions sure looked mean.

original MOTU by far. the music, speech and everything else is just so memorable after you see it a couple of times you will never forget it. Classic.

What is the Snake Men intro? The few times I've seen the MYP 'toon here in the UK it's always been the 'Adam-gets-cut-off-explaining-the-premise' version. What happens in the other one and is it a big improvement?
