Were these models supposed to be painted or something? They just seem kind of bland colorwise.

Yes, and they looked great! My Roton has seen better days, but the paint was awesome (for a little kid). I'll try to dig it up and snap a photo.

I got a roton mib. I never opened it. They are cool looking I think better then the toys from mattel.

They have water slide decals, and they suggest a bit of paint, like on Roton's eyes and teeth, and Attak Trak's teeth

Since they can fit the figures, I'd guess they are scaled properly

Also, I wonder how well they'd stand up to being primered and painted up proper...hrm.

Below is a picture of 2 vehicles I picked up today. I have never seen them before, and they have no date stamp or company stamp that I can see. They are obvioulsy knocks offs I assume of the Attak Trak & Roton. They are made from a less quality plasitc, and are alot lighter in weight than the normal MOTU versions of the vehicles.

If anyone has any insight I would appreciate it.

Both items are from the MONOGRAM model company. They are snap together kits that are in many ways different from the original toys but they are in fact licensed items and not knock-offs.

Is it possible to fit a classics figure in the Talon Fighter? I have seen pics of the model, but no pics with figures.

Nice bit of information about the Attack Trak: the canopy was originally included in Ted Mayer's design of the Attack Track toy, and looked almost excatly like the one in the model kit. More about that (hopefully) coming from the Power and the Honor Foundation soon

Interesting and filled with possibilities. Monogram is still making models. I wonder if Mattel could talk with them about re-releasing these now with the dawn of the Fighting Foe Men.

Wow they look so much better painted.
On a slightly different note I wonder if the "recognition" of these model kits (fighting foe men) would influence the design of a classics roton, talon fighter & attak trak (especially the attak trak since it also had a radically different design in the Filmation cartoon).
