Was someone laughing at my name?

Yeah I'm here at school in Northern Kentucky....but this summer I'll be back in Ohio. Does this make me an honorary kentukian?

I'm currently living in Lexington as well...geez, JVS3, I didn't know you'd moved here! I thought you lived in Virginia. We're practically neighbors.

Great to see all the Kentucky boarders here.

So is there any sort of Kentucky He-Man club?
I'm always up for hanging out on the weekends if I'm not busy with a comic book or DVD deadline.

I think a MOTU club would really be us just hanging out, playing pool or seeing a movie or eating out.
    I'm game for whatever.
Someone want to put that together?

That's fine. If we do something, it should travel friendly - ie meet in like central location not too far away from everyone(it might not be possible, but we can at least try). As far as putting something together, most of the time, when I organize something, it falls through so I'll leave that to someone else.

Talking about living in the head of no where I live in Breathitt County. For the past few months the only thing you see on t.v. wwas about the guy hiding from the FBI in the smack of God's country.

a kentucky fan club sounds great. it would be awesome to be able to geek out about he-man with someone else that is actually interested. (most of my friends think i'm hanging on to icons of my childhood that i should have long let go.) the only problem with a fan-club in kentucky is that the state is so spread out...living in louisville now but originally from the eastern part of the state i know how big this place is. it may be hard to get everyone together but lex seems like a good central location.

If it's more than 30 minutes away from Lexington, I doubt I can make any treks out.
Not to sound snooty, but time is money and so I need to keep my time focused on work. So, long drives to hang out aren't in my schedule.
    Sorry.

It's so cool to see so many people in KY on this forum I also post on another forum (the Jean Grey-Phoenix Fans forum) that I've posted to since I was 18 (I'm now 24) and there are 6 guys there also from KY (five in Eastern KY) so we are planning a meetup to watch Xmen 3 together.

I know a lot of folks here have met up at conventions and things and that seemed like so much fun. I saw all the pics threads. It inspired me to try a meetup at the Jean board.

Anyhow too bad we are all so spread out across KY or a meetup might be possible.

    Hey, Kentuckians!

I posted about this over in the Other forum yesterday:

    http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...3&postcount=36

I thought I'd go ahead and ask here as well. I'd love to go to WizardWorld Chicago but I don't have transportation.

Are any of you planning to drive to WizardWorld Chicago? Would you be willing to take another passenger, i.e. me?

If I can catch a ride, I'd certainly share gas and expenses. If not, I completely understand...most people start planning for these things really early, and I don't want to disrupt anyone's plans or anything. I'm kinda late in the game, but I'd like to attend the convention and meet other boarders (as nervous as it makes me) and comic creators.

    It's just a thought, albeit a last-minute thought.

    EDITED TO ADD:

As I've reflected on this, I've come to realize that this is a silly pipe dream. As much as I'd love to go, the odds of finding someone with which to ride are slim, I have no family or friends who can attend, and I'm not comfortable going by myself (especially since I'd have to fly, something I've never done).

It would have been nice, but I suppose it's best to face reality. *sigh*

Just like Lady Angora said, we're open to suggestions, as Lexington's a big city. ...well, not "big city", but hell, it's bigger than Berea, where I am. Also, what all does everyone want to do, should we all wear a certain thing? Lady Angora and I have traded phone numbers, and I have Syd Jade's as well. Who here doesn't have a cell phone?

GUess I should do the ole intro, too, eh? Well, I'm from Lexington originally (born in Whitesburg...YIKES!), and moved down here to Berea to attend school. I've been here since fall 2002, and I'll be here until the end of 2007, maybe longer...I love it here! Yes, I'm taking forever to get my BA
