Horde Women

I mentioned in an earlier thread that I would post a group shot of my interpretation of the Horde women. Well here it is, or at least an early version of it. I'll probably work on it some more, perhaps add characters like Hunga and Mortella. If anyone can think of female Horde members that I missed, let me know.

I think that's Loni, Adora's friend. Thanks for the full body pic of her!

I left Adora and Huntara out of this shot because they both end up fighting against the Horde and I wanted to stick to the truly committed girls (not to say they aren't drawn though).

I have no idea about Double Trouble. Was she actually a villain? I never saw any stories (in any continuity or medium) that featured her.

Your guess is as good as mine,
I'm pretty sure she was never in the cartoon,
and I never read any stories featuring her.

dunno if Gbagok wants to do it with these ones now.

This is a different one though isn't it Gbagok? I seem to remember one with Hysteria as well...

They're superb. Did you do the background yourself? Also like to see single versions with white background too, but that is up to you.

Yup, that's my own background. Also, yeah, Ice, I used to have Hysteria in this pic, but since she was the only original character I decided it was better to leave her out.

I should mention that Catra was heavily influenced by Baena's entry in the Catra redesign challenge. The fur on her ankles and the bracelets are straight out of his rendering. I had to get her mystic shield in there though, I felt bad about not drawing it sooner. That was one of her biggest weapons in the mini comic.

Iceman is right, we have something cooking that will use these characters...although I could always redraw them in action poses for that. I've already started to with a couple and I've recycled Octavia enough.

For now here's my old designs. Octavia still makes me shudder. She's the oldest one I think, but she's so disasterous. Shadow Weaver is the least changed design though.

I've updated the link to the bigger version. I don't know why, but photobucket resized my image. Something seems to be wrong with their site, it thinks I have a free account still.

I didn't post the individual Catra in the redesign challenge because it was an older drawing and I wanted to post something newer. Also I thought the newer one was better, although I think I made her look a little too uptight.

Also, just to be clear, it's a new Entrapa that's in the group shot.

I've done a few, but I'm going back to the drawing board on the rebels mostly. I'm in love with other people's designs (Bearshow's Bow and Kowl, Buffalo-Bill-Man's Twiggets and Madam Razz, any woman drawn by Baena). I like My Seahawk and Adora though.

I know I can draw them better, but I still like how I approached them and wouldn't make radical changes.

Really? The only thing that's really changed is her hood (the pose in the group shot might be decieving), and that's because I really liked the way Emiliano drew it in a sketch a while back. It seemed better suited toward the Staction/action figure line, and less like her head was compressed into her shoulders.

As for the cat form, I will some day have studied enough Frank Cho to do justice to a She-Ra vs. Catra as a panthor picture.

I remember some of those from awhile back, but I see you've tweaked a couple of 'em. Excellent. You really know what you're doing.

This would so make a kick-ass cartoon.

as ALWAYS I love your work, but I must say the "New Cat-Ra" from the group shot is awesome, i like her more with out the markings & I love the red mask, makes her look more like Cat-Ra... IMHO
