You know, looking at it again, I'm LOVING the water at the base of the castle...
That is water right? A moat? BRILLIANT.

Well, it'll be more of a lagoon... but yeah, I think the water was a good choice.

I love all the versions of this so far as you've been working on it. All the same picture and yet all SO different.. it would be cool to see a slideshow of them all.

That's a great idea! I might just do that when I finish it -- an animated gif that shows the progression of the image.

    Cool!

You know whats cool about that... since some of them seem night time, others dusk, and then sunrise... it would almost show the passing of time as well.

    Ah, ok! That's cool!

So tell us Mike, are you gonna be sending this stuff to the movie makers?

I think you'd be mad if you didn't!

Trust me -- If I thought for a moment that they would actually consider it, then I'd be all for it.

Who knows... maybe the right people will see the final version. Maybe we should start a petition...

Do you think that would stop me if I had your skill??!!
Hell, I have done official MOTU work and I have a fraction of your skills!

You can find out these things man. I think you'd be mad not to.

Once I finish it up, I'll see what I can do.

    [EDIT]

Here's a WIP teaser shot of the mountains along the right side. You can see that the hires elements are starting to come together nicely.

Yeah, I'm diggin' this latest makeover! Everything you mentioned, your reasoning, makes good sense. Brilliant, as always.

    Thanks.

Ya know, back when Masters was relatively new, and all those paintings of Grayksull were posted on toy boxes or posters... It really had a sense of being epic and overpowering. I'm doing my best to replicate that awe... We'll see how it turns out.

that's the exact kind of feeling I hope the filmmakers try to capture when the new movie is being made.

Thanks. I did some random "What-if?" adjustments to the composition and... it turned out really cool -- this is just a section of it, naturally, but it's definitely the focal point, so I figured it'd be something cool to show off as another WIP.

    Excellent stuff man!

From my own personal poin tof view, I think you could play with the colours of the sourroundings as it's all very earth like at the moment.

Just wondering whatever came of this piece. I remember it being awesome, but a work in progress now the images don't come up anymore. It is truely the best design of grayskull I have seen.
