Illumina Discussion (the blue skinned woman from the comic)

Well, since my other thread has been closed, I have to ask the question again in this thread.

What does Illuminas color-scheme look like?

That picture of her is somehow tinted in moonlight, so the real colors aren´t fully visible. I guess theres lots of white and silver, plus the blue skin. But how exactly does it look like?
Emil? Val? Can you tell us pleas?

So.... she´s some very light shades of purple? Er... okay. I have to admit that I didn´t expect that. I really thought it´s the moonlight shining, giving her some kind of night-light-colors. Thanks a lot for clarifying!

Her costume is gray, white and light blue. the gray is a cool gray, not warm gray.
Her skin color is the same as Keldor (as an example; not because of relationship).
She has red jewel accents.

You have to train your eyes to look past some of the tints in there.

Sorry about that, I forget that I'm a professional colorist and that most people don't do that instinctively.

I just wonder about her being an "old Gar"

how "old" can the Gar be?? It seems like their life-span can be QUITE long??

She is costumed as though she is somehow related to whatever culture came up with the Central Tower of the Eternia Towers... and like the Council of Wisdom in Vol. 3 of the comic...

I would wager she has SOME connection in that way....

I finally found MVCreations issue 2 and there is a page at the end promishing more about this girl in issue 4

So who is she? She wasn't in the cartoon, right? So no change of having her in Motuc with a BC repaint?

That's Illumina. No she wasn't in the cartoon, she was created by Emiliano and was set to be introduced in the comic but Mattel axed any plans. (I think I have the details right.) I think I remember Emiliano saying that she might be be related to Skeletor, I can't remember the exact details. I've always wondered if she could be made for MOTUC, that would be awesome, I assume Mattel is on the all clear for her since she's in the comic.

Actually I think Emiliano said she was not related to Keldor, as people were quick to ask that. He and Val have said she was to be equal in skill to a young Duncan and Dekker, suggesting she knew them in their prime. I know Emiliano or Val said that Mattel can make Illumina, but it's a question of will they bother. The current feeling is there is substantially less demand for obscure and new characters (owing to the slower sell outs for Zodak and Goddess). Still, I sure wish she was on the short list to get made. She'd be great!

I think, if they sold her as an SDCC exclusive and packed with her cat, she'd be a huge sell out and a lot easier to hype.

The blurb that Emiliano made, was copied by Patrick Fogarty some time ago.

Illumina is an old Gar with light related powers. She can control can control lights and blind adversaries when she fights!

A formidable fighter, especially with melee weapons; in general her fighting skills are equal if not superior to a young Man-At-Arms.

Illumina is a great strategist and wanders Eternia as sort of an nomadic secret agent. She also played an important role in the history of Grayskull.

It's a fan custom bust of Illumina that was sculpted by royalt1us (his sculpts are awesome).

I know, there is no escaping her! At least she doesn't have the 200X stance. The cape would help make her different though.

Thanks, I missed out on those busts.
Does anybody know of a good (DC) head that would do the trick?
I ripped the head of a WOW figure, but it needs (to much) resculping and the ears are to big.

Heres the concept art I promised, I don`t remember off hand where I got them but I believe it`s Emiliano`s art. I have them in a file with other 200X concept art from the horsemen and thers no water marks so I can`t give proper credit. Heres Illumina, Her Lion and the Illumina bust concept art.
