i took the plunge with all the overtime money i just got (god does it suck working 175 hours in the last 3 weeks) and got myself a PS# (bundled with LBP and Wall-E on blu-ray). plus i picked up infamous too. best splurge i've had on myself in a while.

rachet & clank is after infamous.
mgs4 is on the list even though i've not really played a mgs game in forever.
Even if MGS as a series isn't your thing, it's worth it for the multiplayer and sheer graphical beauty alone. Definitely a showcase game, if nothing else.....

Congrats on the new PS3 purchase as I've had mine since 07' and its been the BEST purchase I have gotten and that with my Wii I have as well. I love my PS3 and Wii but my PS3 is my baby that sits in my bedroom. I love the Wii with Mario Kart.

I played @ 1680x1050 with AA off, Shadows off, Motion Blur set to Low, everything else maxed. Hovered around 60fps the whole time.
If I played with AA maxed (Haven't tried in between) Shadows maxed (Haven't tried any in between setting yet) Motion Blur on High, I got around 30fps.

For those waiting on the 360 version of Marvel vs Capcom 2. No word yet on if the Gamestop retail bundle will have a 360 versions or if solely a PS3 exclusive pack.
Release Date 7/29, Cost 1200 points
Despite delays and fears that it might miss its summer schedule altogether, Capcom has put those rumors to bed with the official release date of their highly-anticipated remake, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, for July 29th...for the Xbox 360. Coming in at 1,200 MS Points, the notoriously difficult-to-find game will land on Microsoft's digital platform with enhanced visuals, swappable soundtrack, and of course, online multiplayer madness. Capcom points out the release will be part of Microsoft's "Summer of Arcade" line-up, which has focused on digital-download titles for the platform.
The emphasis of course is on Xbox 360, as no word yet when the PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop into Sony's own PlayStation Network (PSN). The PS3 of course was host to an exclusive playable demo (if you could call it that) on April 30th, so we can only imagine the full version should closely follow the Xbox's release.

If anyone owns Fallout 3 the DLC that was originally for the 360 will be coming out. Operation Anchorage will be out soon. There are also two new ones being released: Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.

that sounds awesome! too bad i only have about half the required points. i guess i just don't have enough money to spend on games to, uh, enjoy games...
i hope the platinum exclusive for next year is something as cool as that.
They have made it a bit easier to get points now, you can take surveys on what games interest you and if you end buying that game later you get bonus points. Also if you buy any Virtual Console or WiiWare games they ask you to rate them and so you get points that way.

yeah, i noticed that. it does help a bit, but i still don't really buy games too often. it's slowed down to maybe four or five a year (across any system), although i will get stuff on VC or wiiware sometimes. for example, i am looking forward to a boy and his blob and i have downloaded secret of mana and paper mario recently because i never owned a SNES or N64.
The demo (at least PSN version for sure) has been out for a few days now. I downloaded it either at the end of last week or over this past weekend (I forget the exact day.. I just happened to go to the PSN store one day, and saw it there), even though I already have the game. I was curious to see what portion of the game would be included in the demo. It's not bad, but I think they could have picked a better part of the game.
I'll have to check out the Xbox version though. I'd like to see the difference in graphics first hand.

GH: World Tour PC release date has been moved out YET AGAIN. Was supposed to come out in May, got moved to July 11th, and today I see that it got moved to 12/31/09... how lame is that??? Fortunately, I found the PS3 version on clearance yesterday at Target for $14.98.

Why even release it in December with Guitar Hero 5 coming out in the fall which is an upgrade to GHWT?? Not sure why it takes so long as the game should just be a port of the 360 version with some slight adjustments

Yeah, I was thinking that too! It's so lame... and they wonder why some PC sales just plain SUCK. Corporate guy, "Yeah, let's release it long after the console versions are out to minimize any impacts on sales due to piracy." Everybody else in the room, "Ummmm... yeah, there WILL be no sales of this because GH5 will be out right after that."
