So, I picked up all 3 of those Xbox games from Burger King yesterday.
They are interesting. They're nothing really special, but I wasn't expecting much at $4 each. They are still fun though in their own right. For some reason, Brook Burke is in them, which I'm not complaining about, but it just seemed to random.![]()
The games work in both Xbox and Xbox 360. It's kind of weird because the logo on the top and side of the box is like that of the Xbox 360 logo, but it only says Xbox (then there's a box that says "Includes Xbox 360 and Original Xbox version" roughly around the spot where fames exclusive to the system would usually say "Only on Xbox"). I guess if you have a shelf on which you display your games, and if you have your Xbox and Xbox 360 games side by side, you could put these inbetween them as a transitioning point.![]()
Sorry to go into so much detail on the packaging, but for some reason stuff like that interests me.

"What started as a rumor has been confirmed to be true: Madden 07 for the Wii uses the Forecast Channel to determine weather for games. That's pretty awesome, if you ask us, as we're from Philly and are very much into sports. Adding another dynamic such as this to the experience can only improve our love for the title as it destroys ceilings and shoots off into the stratosphere.
It's all pretty easy, asking that you only set the game to read from the system client and upon starting the game, you'll see your current default city's weather in-game. Cool for us, as weather in Philly ranges, but if you're in some place such as Seattle, well it could get kind of boring after you've played your 8th or so game in a row with rain. Obviously, if your team plays in a dome, this doesn't apply ..."

Keep in mind, the developers of the game did not confirm this. I'm just posting this because it sounds really cool.
There has been rumors on Nintendo's official forums that not only will Super Mario Brothers appear on the virtual console on Christmas, but it might also be a FREE download!
It is in no way confirmed, but is a cool rumor.

Who is a neat little rumor.
={+}=
Yes they do and they are in 1080i and 720P (for Xbox).
I like this very much. First of all they made it for both systems in HD and for only 4 bucks well you can get em 3 for $10. So what ever that comes out to.
I like this because A. It keeps advertising out of video games and made advertising into one. So your not blindsided. You know exactly what your getting.
And they have achievements not many but they are in there and the Picture packs are free. So.. it's all good. More companies should do this.
The Brooke Burke thing is not weird. They were supposedly "dating" a while back. Now that was weird and with her inclusion in the games I guess it kinda makes sense why. Plenty of people license their likeness to video games. So it's all good.
That super mario rumor is false. It's already been debunked. It doesn't make any sense at all for Nintendo to give away what will no doubt be their best selling VC game. It wasn't even just Mario there were 2 other games listed in the rumor.
It came about cause someone using FireFox hacked the VC database and posted a list of VC games coming out soon. The Price for the 3 games said 0. And people ran with it. The price was merely a price holder spot since the games aren't released yet.
"The current leading contender seems to be free Virtual Console games. As GamersReports notes, a little Firefox hacking can turn up Wii Shop pages for upcoming games Super Mario Bros., ToeJam & Earl and R-Type that list the price as "0 points / Free."

Well, I only baguely remember her part in the commercials now that you mention it.
And while people do lisence their likenesses to video games, it was just something I wasn't expecting, and since the previous commericals weren't fresh in my mind, it caught me off guard and seemed like this weird, random thing. Her inclusion in the game is nothing bad and it doesn't take anything away from the games, themselves, but it was just something that I would have NEVER guessed on. That's all.

Well no ones mentioned this so I guess I have to.
No Mario, Metroid or Zelda Phantom Hour Glass till Late in 07. And Wii Play gets pushed back to February.
Officially, Nintendo would only acknowledge that Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Phantom Hourglass would debut in 2007. But the holiday stretch (October-December) is the obvious release window.

And Uhm everything the Wii can do the PS3 can do. Yep thanks to Linux and bam Wii-mote on PS3.
"Just another amazing bit of Linux usage -- the PS3 used the Wiimote for the presentation. Who would've thought the PS3 could also serve as a business presentation tool? There's not really much else to say from a news angle, but really, what can't the PS3 do?"
http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2006/12/18/...s-competition/
Nintendo (Regie) just said in an interview that Metroid for early 07 and Mario Galaxy just in 07. So, it appears there are conflicts with reports here. Not that it really matters. I always just want the best the game can be.
Does anyone really care or didn't assume there wasn't a way to use the wii remote as a pointer on a pc, or in this case, a PS3? The article sure was fanboy-ish too..."consumes competition"?
Perhaps Sony should focus on itself and its massive problems first.

Who is not problem free either.

over 1050 posts?![]()
is it even worth searching thru this entire long thread for a little question that probably has been answered?
not too concerned about the release dates being pushed back. Hopefully we will still get Mario Party in early '07. I still have a bunch of GC games to catch up on (including Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime 1 and 2). I also just got NHL 06 for GC (wish 07 came out for Nintendo) and it is miles better than 04 for PC. I'll spend alot of time on that too (big hockey fan).
My name is Pan . . . and I am the Man.
I agree.
Even if the Wiimote can work with PS3, no one is going to program games for the PS3 to work specifically with the Wiimote, so it's kind of a moot point. Having the capability and potential to do something, and actually doing that something are two very different things.
I have heard about the programs to have the Wii-mote work with PC's, and it sounds kind of cool. A friend of mine from out on CA was telling me that he downloaded a program to use the Wii-Mote with his computer, and when he would move it around, the computer would make lightsaber noises! I thought that was kind of cool, even if only for a side gimic kind of thing.
As for the Wii games getting pushed back into late 2007, is that really a surprise to anyone? Did we really expect Nintendo to release their major hard-hitting titles during a time of year like late winter/early fall, which isn't generally a time to release new, major video game titles?
I'm not really that worried about it. There's still plenty out for the system now to keep me happy. So, no biggie.

While not free, at least EVERY game releasing on X-Mas day is pure quality. Looks like I'll be dropping 3500 points next week!![]()
I have been honing my movie knowledge while I have been away and watching a lot. Best Picture winners left to watch: NONE. Films left to watch in Empire's 500 greatest films list: ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN
yeah I would agree but since the point was missed entirely I guess I can't.
So heres the deal just like the PSP the Homebrew community already made it possible to do everything possible on a Wii on the PS3.
So while your waiting every monday to see what game Nintendos gonna release on the VC to tide over the drought. PS3 owners will have every game for every back NES system and Sega System Turbo Grafix and Neo Geo and some Arcade games already playable. And geuss what they can use the Wii mote if they so wish. Same experience nothing lost.
So it's not about new games it's about all the old ones that's the selling point of the Wii anyway the VC outside of the Controller. So if another system has that then your left with nothing.
Oh and the VC has already been hacked. It's rather simple people are finding out to take your VC on an SD card and with a little reworking make them work on any one elses Wii. So that means files will be uploaded online just like any other Rom for people to take. So there goes that too.
Yeah, but owning ROMs is illegal.
Also, who gives a crap is you can use the Wii remote on a PS3? The PS3 doesn't play the games designed for it...
Whatever happened to you being someone who wanted a Wii? That was always your prior excuse. Now you are just coming off as brash. No one prompted this...no one asked.
Besides that the PS3 STILL costs 600 bucks.
-Brett
Who costs more then a PS3.

Yeah $600 for the VC is too much since there really isn't anything to buy for the REAL console.By the way, so much for PS3 exclusives...Virtua Fighter 5 is going multiplatform and DragonQuest IX went to the DS and rumors of Kingdom Hearts heading to Nintendo systems!

Ok, but obviously you are refering to Roms, which are unofficial and probably illegal as Brett pointed out (actually, I'd have to double check the legality on that... it may not be illegal to have the Rom is you already own a legit copy of the game in some form, but that's neither here nore there).
Technically speaking, anyone who has a PC can do the same thing with the Roms and Wii-mote. So what real advantage is the PS3 giving them in that case? - Oh yeah, None! (That esspecially goes true for people posting on this forum, since obviously we all have access to computers to even get on here and post in the first place.... if these people were fine with unofficial Roms, then they wouldn't be paying for the VC games to begin with)
Generally speaking, people wanting to get these games from Nintendo want them since they are official releases, not unofficial Roms with occasional glitches, etc.
And, you are saying these things like it's a good thing. People who are buying PS3's to do these things (like ROMs, etc) aren't really helping Sony's bottom line. Sony is selling their system at a loss. So, if people buy it, mainly use it for this kind of thing, and don't buy many PS3 games, then it doesn't really help Sony profit and prosper. So, even if this does hurt the Wii (which I really don't think it does), it's probably hurting Sony just as much, if not more so (in fact, in this scenario, since the Roms are being dowloaded for free, and Sony is taking a loss on the PS3, Nintendo is the only one making any profit here with the sale of the Wii-mote to use with the PS3 and the Roms). Yup, it's really good that Sony put all of these extra features into their system to distract people from having to go out and buy games to help them profit. They are doing a bang-up job.
On the other hand, the Wii is at least breaking even with each unit sold and is probably making at least some profit, even if not a huge one. So, even if people buy it and find a way to hack things and use their friend's VC games on their system, Nintendo will still come out ahead (maybe not as far ahead as they would if people weren't doing this kind of thing, but still somehwat ahead none the less).
Plus, once the PS1 games become downloadable, I'm sure people will find ways to hack and illegally copy those as well. So, Sony won't get away from these issues scott-free.
The bottom line here is that you are (once again) grasping at straws to make some point about PS3 and trying to make it seem better than the Wii. But, we can see the forest through the trees on this. Besides, there really is no legal way for people to do this stuff on their PS3. So, when you come up with an answer to how people can do this on their PS3 and keep it completely legal, you be sure and keep us in the loop on that one.
Now, go back out into the world, grasp at some more loose straws, and come running back to us with then them and present them as being something much more firm and concrete than they really are so that we can point out the flaws in your logic once again.
Excellent point. Plus, not only would the system cost the $600, but you'd have to shell out $40 to even have a single Wii-Mote, which would already come with the Wii. Unless you really download A LOT of Roms to really balance out what it would cost just to get the Wii and pay for the VC games legitimately, then this whole arguement is kind of pointless anyway.
Plus, I've been hearing enough info on PS3's supposedly crashing and freezing that it makes me want on even less. Granted, I don't have enough info to make a final, concrete determination on it yet, but it's enough to significantly raise my eyebrow. So, what good are the Roms if the system isn't working to play them?
Yup, let's all jump on the PS3 bandwagon now! Clearly that's the most logical route to go!
I heard about VF 5 coming to 360. And I find that funny as it's the only game coming out for PS3 in the relatively near future that I had any real interest in. It wasn't enough to make me buy the system anyway, but now that it is coming out for 360, there's even less of a reason for me to get PS3.: By the way, so much for PS3 exclusives...Virtua Fighter 5 is going multiplatform and DragonQuest IX went to the DS and rumors of Kingdom Hearts heading to Nintendo systems!![]()
However, somehow I doubt Kingdom Hearts will come out for Wii. Time may prove me wrong, but I just don't see it happening. If it does happen, I think it would be more of a side game, and not specifically Kingdom Hearts 3 or something (it would be like the equivelant of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals).
Granted, if Kingdom Hearts were to no longer be PS exclusive, and have the exact same game come out for other systems, I wouldn't mind. Mainly because right now that is the only game that I can see coming out that would really tempt me into getting a PS3. And if it becomes available elsewhere, then I see no reason to ever get PS3. At least not from this point in time.
Time will tell on that one. For the record, I hope you are right... but, I somehow doubt that things will pan out that way.
