Its not JUST a visor though, the origional Rio had a visor. Its the fact that it seems to be molded to half his skull in a sort of terminatorish cyborg look

However I really feel it was a big mistake to leave out the long hair. He would've looked more the part (of a cowboy) if his hair were left iconicly waving about in the winds of the plains of Eternia. Know what I mean? Besides, slightly longer hair suits a handlebar moustache better in my opinion. Oh well - he's still awesome.

Totally agree on that. Lots of Eternians seem to have long hair anyway so it's not that out of place.

Duncan Blast
Rio Blast

He does look like MAA. They have similar guns. MAA is known for cutting off his brother's arm..

Rio Blast is looking sweet.

As kind of "meh" as I am about the Classic toy/character, I was expecting the 4H version to blow me away a little more than it has, but it's still very nice nonetheless.

There are two things I think I would change.

I think I agree that longer hair would have been better. Not an identical hair style to the Classic toy, but just a little shaggier.

Look at this pic HERE and imagine if his hair were a tad longer that would be kind of cool for it to stop where the bio parts start and kind of hang down over a little bit.

The other thing I thought would be rad is if his chest plate were opening up just a little bit, as if in the process of deploying the hidden gun.

When I first saw the new Rio pics I initially thought it would be cool to have the gun legs but have since changed my mind. The sculpted work on the legs is too cool to obstruct with that.

I think for being a static sculpture, he's got enough fire power as is, but hinting more at the radical nature of his physicality (by revealing the chest compartment opening a little) would have been cool.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of the three of them being brothers. It adds depth to their character.

Ok so all this talk about Rio Blast's hair got me thinking how would he actually look like with longer hair so I took the time to play with photoshop and add him some hair.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I love the 4 Horsemen's take. I just wanted to see how different he would look with hair.

Yeah i was impressed with rio blast and very much like the detail of the bullet holes in his chest armor and leg pads. His gun range on his back reminds me though of stratos 200x toy line missile pack.

You know- I was on the fence about getting Rio- but now we have confirmed he is a "Blast Brother"- he's mine now.

I think the buzz-cut ads to his character. ike I said before it gives him a more menacing, not so standard goody look.

Just as with Snout Spout and Clamp Champ, I really wish I could like the staction, and I acknowledge the improvements and talent, but I'm just not so big on the character.

For the heck of it I did a couple, too.

One with just a little bit longer hair right HERE.
And another a little more like the Classic toy HERE.

Now especially with seeing how different versions might look, I'm liking the 4H's version even better!

i just dont really care for the guy too much. something about him just doesnt make him stand out to me at all. honestly only a few of the stactions have really stood out to the point where i wanted them. regardless though, i do own ever staction. and will own every other one that comes out. im definately looking forward to wave 4 though.
