Anyone know if the British PS2 game will play on US PS3 systems that were said to be region free?
It would also depend on if the PS3 also has a PAL to NTSC coverter built in like most DVD players do. I'd assume it should since one of key features is the Blu-Ray DVD player.Originally Posted by Carlaird

I remember reading that the PS3 still enforces region lockouts for PS1 and PS2 games; it's only the PS3 games that have the option of being region-free. I hope I'm wrong about that, because I've got some Japanese PS1 and 2 games that I'd love to be able to play without modding any consoles.

Sadly no. I have the game and I play it on my PS2 with a Modchip. The PS3 posts a message saying it cannot play the game because region restrictions. I have the 60 GB PS3 that plays PS1, PS2 and PS3 games without any configurations. I do not know if it would be different for other versions of PS3.
Yeah, it's not going to play. The PS3 is not entirely region free. The PS3 games and Blu-ray movies will most often play on PS3's of other regions (though I think I've heard of the odd game or movie being region locked). Normal DVD's are region locked so I wouldn't expect a PS2 game of another region to work.
You've also got to be careful about getting games from another region as your PS3. If you buy DLC for that game, despite the game being region free, the DLC has to be from the region the game is from otherwise it won't be compatible.
And I might advise anyone hoping to pick up the PS2 game. Do yourself a favour and don't. It's an awful game. lol

I have it, it wasnt the worst game.... but it was pretty difficult to play. Im stuck on trying to get to Tri-Klops for about the last 3 months. i can get to him i just keep dying. I might just sale my british PS2 and there games. But i want to beat it before i do that.
