If that is true....MATTEL can pretty much not expect to ever get another dollar out of my wallet! I am proud to say that I hadn't given them any of my hard earned money since the fall of the 200X MOTU line. Last summer what DC Superheroes first started coming out, I begrudgingly picked up the Superman, Bizzaro, and Doomsday figures. I opened them up that night and messed around with them for a few minutes before placing them on my shelf. I could tell right then that while the figures had really nice looking scuplts, they were a little over articulated with very loose joints (Superman and Bizzaro's torso joint and all three of their thigh joints were super loose). I really liked them so I started looking out for the Batman wave that was coming and much to my disapointment, when I layed my eyes on the Batman figure I saw the horror of exactly how bad a figure can look if articulation is the only thing a company focus's on. It was horrible. The Bane, Croc, and Scarecrow were really nice looking figures though. The Bane and Scarecrow were previously unreleased figures in the US under the 4-Horseman sculpted BATMAN line that Mattel put out towards the end of the last MOTU run. And the Croc figure was a repainted version of the Croc from that line with a new head. These figures were a little more like the MOTU figures in that they were sculpted beautifully and had decent articulation, but didn't let that articualtion get in the way of the asthetics of the figure. The Darkseid and Lex Luthor figures of the DC Superheroes line are the same way and they are my two favorite figures so far from the line. Since I first started with the line I have picked up probably about 65%-70% of the figures that have been released, and have gone back through various after-market sources to find a couple of good BATMAN figures from the ill-fated Mattel BATMAN line to fill in the hole where BATMAN would go since none of the releases from the DC Superheroes line satisfied me enough to purchase them. But now with MATTEL seeming to be up to its old tricks in their assortments and case ratio's I think I will just spend my money on more Transformers and Star Wars items. I refuse to go out of my way to track down figures that I want like Two Face. If they are not going to offer these figures in the regular assortments to the regular retailers (Walmart, Target, Toys R Us) then they can kiss my ***. They wont get another dime out of me!
