Well most people would agree that Frank Miller today isn't the same person he was 26 years ago. Some might say he's lost his mind. But that's just what they're saying on the streets.![]()

A journey that began long ago in a place neither near nor far…
A story of heroes, passed down through the ages…
Until now.
This is our story. These are our heroes…
Alan Moore's Killing Joke is a great comic and with establishing a new more complex background for the Joker and crippling Barbara Gordon it had probably a larger influence on Batmans continuity then the TDKR. When it comes to the overall impact on comic industry I would say TDKR is a little bit ahead of the Killing Joke. But that is just my opinion.
I do not like Frank Millers personal views on politics and society either but that can probably be said about a lot of artists/directors/writers/actors/musicians whose work I enjoy. I try to judge the work regardless of personal feelings for its creator whenever possible.

Now that it's been clarified that they can use MOTUC bits for DCUC, I can't understand why they wouldn't have done so for Atrocitus. He seems like the perfect candidate!
Maybe this figure is meant to be Atkins Diet Power Atrocitus.![]()
Toyguru speaks...
MOTUC AND BATMAN BUCK
since Motuc buck has been used for a Batman figure, can other series buck be used for slimmer character like Mantenna, 200x adam, 200x Mer-Man, Lizard Man, Modulok and all those characters who are actually smaller the standard body in order to cut the costs and focus the resource to the expensive sculpting costs and ?
I actually checked with the DC team. This is not a Batman fig using the MOTU buck. It is in "scale" to MOTUC (in order to create that unique one time Dark Knight Returns look) but the only MOTUC part it uses is the shoulders. All other parts are brand new.
We were happy to loan the use of the shoulders as a one time help for the DC team, but as always, MOTU classics parts will only be used on MOTUC toys.
I actually checked with the DC Team. These aren't the droids you're looking for.![]()
I want a whole justice league in this scale.... GAH!
Check me out: www.patrickireland.net
As long as he is in scale with MOTUC I am happy. I am really hoping for a Superman as well.

the final may not be "a Batman fig using the MOTU buck", but you can't tell me after looking at that pic, which may be a proto/mock up, it doesn't use parts other than the shoulders!!!!!
i'm sorry, but...

Do you think MOTUC would let DC borrow the shoulders a second time for Superman in the same style?
wouldn't motuc shoulders look outrageously huge on a dc buck?
i'm thinking they made a slightly smaller version of the motuc buck molds.
No they made a brand new DCUC buck to fit the shoulders the same way MOTUC parts would.
Either way, give me a Superman in that same design and I will be VERY happy!

Can someone PM me the US number for Matty? I want to talk to someone who might has a clue of what is going on.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
I just found out about this today, and think it is awesome. I will definitely buy one, and definitely display it with my MOTUC!
So they're saying the shoulders are the only MOTUC parts on this figure? Because those certainly look like MOTUC biceps and legs to me...
Scanning Batman for MOTUC parts again, I can see how it's more new parts than it appears at first.
Chest is new, flattened out for the logo. Muscle detail has been softened on the chest and lower torso so it looks more like clothes instead of having a belly button.
Gloves may even be new, with more of a stretched fabric look between thumb and forefinger.
Thighs, calves and biceps look like MOTUC to me, right down to the bicep vein that's part of the MOTUC sculpt that doesn't make the translation to plastic. Maybe these parts are MOTUC pieces that had some sculpting added to reduce bare muscle definition like the torso.
I can't see how the pelvis and hip joints underneath the shorts wouldn't be reused, though. Redoing those for no reason doesn't make any sense, right?
If we are to take Scott on his word (when has he ever lied?) and it is a new buck created for Batman I wonder if the MOTUC team will "borrow" some of the pieces to use on other figures?
They can't borrow from DC. It's entirely possible, even if unreasonable, that they tooled brand new DCUC parts to mimic MOTUC parts to avoid sharing parts.
